Ford Fiesta owners were the most conscientious drivers on the road in 2021 – servicing their cars more than any others according to stats from FixMyCar.
The UK’s largest independent online car maintenance marketplace, which oversees a network of over 15,000 affiliated garages, has been busy analysing the data from over 750,000 motorists in the last 12 months to identify which are the most diligent drivers when it comes to vehicle servicing.
And while Ford Fiesta drivers claimed the top spot, they were closely followed by their Ford Focus counterparts when it came to booking their used car in for a full service. Owners of the Vauxhall Astra, Vauxhall Corsa and VW Golf rounded out the Top Five.
Overall, a driver visited FixMyCar every five minutes during 2021 to request a quote for a full service, saving themselves £75.68 on average off the cost in the process.
In terms of the most popular time of the year for motorists to book their full service, June and July were the two busiest months, reflecting the popularity of staycations for many families during the summer holidays in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was a slightly different story when it came to an interim service in terms of makes and models, with owners of the Vauxhall Corsa and Vauxhall Astra the most dutiful followed by the VW Golf. The Ford Fiesta and the Ford Focus made up the top five.

Al Preston, Co-Founder of FixMyCar, explained: “It’s great to see so many drivers taking our advice and booking their car in every year for a full service.
“While some owners of used cars see a full service as an additional cost of ownership, with no immediate improvements to their driving experience, keeping your car in good condition with a regular full service should be seen more as an investment in your vehicle.
Al Preston added: “Not only will a full service help to prevent damage to a car down the line, avoiding potentially costly repair bills, but it will help to maintain the value of the car moving forward, something which can be highly beneficial when it comes to trading in your vehicle for a newer model.”
Overall, Vauxhall drivers were the most conscientious of all the makes when it came to getting their car serviced, closely followed by Ford, BMW, VW and Audi.
