WhoCanFixMyCar discusses which popular small SUVs are similar to the Nissan Juke.

The Nissan Juke was revolutionary when it first came out because it was one of the first affordable small SUVs. Today, it has many rivals - we're going to look at ten of the best ones in this guide.

Contents

1. Peugeot 2008

2. Renault Captur

3. Vauxhall Mokka

4. Ford Puma

5. Volkswagen T-Cross

6. Skoda Kamiq

7. Dacia Duster

8. Kia EXCeed

9. Citroen C3 Aircross

10. Fiat 500x

1. Peugeot 2008

Peugeot 2008

The 2008 offers decent ride comfort, punchy engines and a well-made interior. However, it also has a surprisingly high price tag close to that of premium models like the Audi Q2. It isn't as outstanding as some of its mainstream rivals, but it does have a similar look and feel to the Juke. In 2020, it was named 'Best Compact SUV' at the Fleet News Awards.

2. Renault Captur

Renault Captur

The Renault Captur is an excellent buy if you want a safe SUV that comes with plenty of equipment as standard. All models come with Renault’s R&Go system, allowing you to use your smartphone as an infotainment controller. It's a narrow vehicle, meaning the space in the rear is tight, which is fine for three children but not ideal for adults. The boot offers an impressive 377 litres of space.

3. Vauxhall Mokka

The Mokka has an interior similar to the Nissan Juke: plush-looking with gloss and chrome panels. Under the bonnet, it's closely related to the Peugeot 2008 and comes with various frugal engine options. That said, it isn't the cheapest in the class to run.

 4. Ford Puma

Making a small SUV that is fun to drive and offers great value for money is hard; not all manufacturers manage it. But the Ford Puma proves that it's certainly possible. It looks sporty - especially compared to rivals - and has a cavernous boot, meaning it ticks the box for practicality, too. In 2023, the Puma was Parkers' Small Family Car of the Year.

5. Volkswagen T-Cross

A blue Volkswagen T-Cross.

The T-Cross has earned a spot on this list instead of its sibling, the T-Roc, because it's more versatile and (depending on which spec you choose) it's also cheaper to buy, offering a spacious interior with flexible seating arrangements.

6. Skoda Kamiq

Skoda Kamiq

The Skoda Kamiq is one of the best all-rounders in the small SUV category. It isn't as exciting to drive as the Puma or as plush as the T-Roc, but it's bigger and more comfortable than many of its rivals and doesn't have an inflated price tag. Typically for Skoda, it also has a range of clever features to make your life that much easier.

At the 2022 WhatCar? Awards, it was named 'Best SUV for Under £20,000'.

7. Dacia Duster

The Dacia Duster is one of the most affordable SUVs on the market, and despite this, you still get a lot of car for your money. It's spacious, cheap to run and very capable at off-roading. However, you've got to be willing to make a few compromises regarding safety and dynamics. At the 2024 Carbuyer Best Used Car Awards, the Duster won 'Best Used Small Family Car'.

8. Kia XCeed

The XCeed is a family hatchback with clear SUV aspirations, and its funky styling makes it feel very similar to early versions of the Nissan Juke. The non-hybrid version has a decent amount of boot space, and the standard seven-year warranty from Kia makes it an appealing option. However, cars like the Karoq have a similar price tag while offering more practicality.

9. Citroen C3 Aircross

Citroen C3 Aircross

If you like the Nissan Juke's quirky appearance, the C3 Aircross will be right up your street. Like the Duster, it's a cheaper option in the small SUV class, coming with a choice of three engines (including, unusually, a diesel). Although it's affordable, driving the C3 Aircross isn't as fun or comfortable as many rivals.

10. Fiat 500x

Taking inspiration from the Jeep Renegade, the 500x is Fiat’s version of the small SUV. It boasts a stylish interior and good equipment levels, but practicality isn't its strong point, with a small boot and lack of versatility in the seating arrangements.

J.D. Power named the 500x 'Best Compact Premium SUV of 2022'.
