With coronavirus lockdown measures easing, VARTA are urging the UK independent aftermarket garage network to re-charge their business with a new, more entrepreneurial approach to the battery.

As garage owners count the cost of lost revenue during the lockdown period, the battery experts at VARTA have launched a campaign entitled 'BACK TO BETTER'. The campaign focuses on supporting garages with a series of support services, advice and tips on improving their battery business.

Turning Negatives into Positives

VARTA aims to support garage owners to “turn negatives into positives” through an informational campaign to be launched across all media channels, bringing a whole host of relevant and concise technical sales information to professional mechanics to help them ramp up their expertise, sales and profitability when it comes to batteries.

“We’ve all had a chance to reflect on business and how to turn things around during lockdown” says Jeremy Tollman, National Sales Manager at VARTA Batteries. “These are really tough times, but it’s also a time of great opportunity when it comes to batteries. Even if a workshop was shut and couldn’t take advantage of the surge in post-lockdown battery demand, there are still huge opportunities through proactive, routine testing of batteries."

"Right now, there are plenty of batteries in a generally weakened state, or which are fitted to start-stop cars which will be gradually shutting down comfort features and may have been particularly impacted by the lockdown park-up.  To help garages capture these sales and better support their customers, we’ll be releasing information, videos, technical tutorials and other bite-sized support to the workshops.”

Free Online Support

All releases will be free of charge and will be supported by the free-to-access VARTA Partner Portal, the industry leading online platform providing OE information to help identify the correct battery for every vehicle, and with step-by-step fitting instructions.

VARTA are supported by their brand ambassador Andy Savva, The Garage Inspector.  Andy is a firm believer that workshops can take advantage of these challenging times post COVID-19 by using the opportunity to change the way they work for the better. And the team at VARTA believe, there’s no better place for the workshop to start, than with their battery business.
