FixMyCar has agreed to support The People’s Kitchen's ‘Feed a Friend for a Fiver’ campaign this Christmas.

The UK’s largest online car maintenance marketplace, headquartered in Newcastle, has been a long-standing supporter of The People’s Kitchen, which serves up more than 250 meals a day, 365 days a year for the homeless in the city.

And, this year, every member of the FixMyCar team has agreed to donate £5 each to ensure that as many ‘Friends’ of The People’s Kitchen as possible enjoy a hot meal over the festive period at the charity’s base close to St James’ Park.

Additionally, the team have also been busy collecting a wide range of clothing, food and toiletry items to drop off at The People’s Kitchen over the coming weeks in order to help make life on the streets a little easier.

Al Preston, Co-Founder of FixMyCar explained: “It’s a real pleasure to be able to support The People’s Kitchen with their ‘Feed a Friend for a Fiver’ campaign this Christmas and we would encourage more businesses to do the same if possible.

“The People’s Kitchen are real unsung heroes. Their volunteers work tirelessly across the city to provide a safe haven for people living on the streets, and any support that businesses can offer, no matter how small or large, can make such a difference – particularly at what can be a challenging time of year for many people.”
