Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation last night (05/01/2021) with the latest update on the coronavirus pandemic.

Stricter measures have been employed across England as we enter a third national lockdown. This has been imposed in attempts to stop the virus from spreading further and to prevent the NHS from being overwhelmed by surging infections.

People are limited to exercise outdoors (while adhering to social distancing) and travel is restricted to those journeying to and from essential work. The rules around what you can and can't do during this period have been outlined in a government document.

Are Garages Open During Lockdown?

The key message that relates to garages is that they are allowed to remain open.

Much of the retail sector has been shutdown. Although, supermarkets remain open in order for people to buy basic necessities. Pharmacies, banks, petrol stations and post offices are also amongst those who can stay open at this time.

Garages have been advised that they can remain open if sensible - most garages on our site remain open for business.

Garages are able to identify whether or not they are open, allowing any users of WhoCanFixMyCar.com to still book any required repairs or servicing.

NOTE THAT ONLY ESSENTIAL TRAVEL IS PERMITTED DURING LOCKDOWN, AND FOR CRITICAL WORKERS TO TRAVEL TO AND FROM THEIR JOB.
