"In 1939 Basil Appleton started his own business repairing cars and charging accumulator batteries, which were used to power wireless radios. His workshop was a rickety old barn, which he shared with pigs. Eventually after a great deal of sweat and hard work, Basil built a ÔÇ£properÔÇØ workshop and now shared with mechanics, not pigs. BasilÔÇÖs son Gerrard joined the business aged fifteen years and worked his way up the ranks, serving an apprenticeship and attending college in the evening to gain further qualifications. Basil worked in the business until he became ill in the year 2000, and died in 2001. Gerrard now has sole charge and business is thriving, mostly due to personal recommendation from our loyal customers. B.I. Appleton Ltd prides itself on the quality of service it provides and the personal touch that is synonymous with a family run business. B. I. Appleton Limited is an independent authorised Bosch Car Service and Repair Centre and we probably have more technical equipment than many franchise dealerships."
