Being in the trade since 2008, where we started in a small back street garage, we have learnt a lot. The Motor trade is a very saturated market with lots of vendors; from franchised dealers and fast fit centres to small independent garages. The competition is tough with everyone claiming they are better than the rest. Here at Blackwater Autoworks, we do not talk about how much better we are, nor do we brag how we can ‘take care of all your motoring needs’. With the fast pace of technology and the wide variations of cars on the road, it is impossible to know everything, even for a specialist who focuses on only one particular brand. It is always a catch-up game, even for the bigger franchised dealersHere at Blackwater Autoworks, we are clear and simple as to where we stand. We all want the same thing – a simple and happy life. We want to contribute to our community, and we do this by striving to be one of the respectable and reputable independent garages in our area. I had to get my EGR valve replaced on my car. I used WhoCanFixMyCar to find some quotes and found these guys. They were not the cheapest quoted, but still reasonably priced. The reason I picked them was for their Customer Star Rating.
The team informed me the price would be slightly different than quoted, but clearly explained the reasons why. They gave me clear prices and options of products with different price points to suit a budget. I went to collect my car after I finished work the following day, but when they carried out a test run of the vehicle, it did not sound right, so they kept the car with them over a weekend to investigate the issue. They found an issue unrelated to the EGR and fixed this for me free of charge. They also let me use their courtesy car during this time.
I am sure some garages would have just ignored the issue found during the test run, or would have added these additional charges to myself. Not these guys. They communicated with me throughout and made me feel like a valued customer. Despite this not being my closest garage, I will definitely make the journey to use these guys from now on for my car needs, as I cannot fault their service and have been brilliant.
