It started off badly at the very start. After receiving the email back saying I’ve been quoted £89.99 and then got charged £134.99. He also said his card machine wasn’t working so I had to pay cash. Which at the start I thought was odd, but at the time you think “I need my car fixing. He firstly plugged in a OBD and saw the fault appear on the dashboard. He then got a can of some kind of chemical and started spraying it into the air filter while the car was running. He also had a machine which was sat on the engine bay. After the process was completed he then plugged the OBD back in to see if the fault had been clear. He then said he would need to get another OBD that had Audi/ Volkswagen software to clear the fault. In total he was here for under a hour. The next day I had a message saying that he was stuck in Manchester. Which I thought okay never mind he’ll return the following day at least he let me know. The following day still no sigh. I then got a message saying “is someone going to be home in the morning” I replied with “What time? I could make sure someone is in? He replied with “around 10am” I then made sure my wife was home and didn’t take my daughter to nursery also with my new born son. He then never shown up and didn’t let me know. I then tried to ring him when I finished work already around 12.30 13.00 and got a auto response saying “can’t talk right now” he then sent a message saying he was having his hair cut. I then knew that he wasn’t going to return and finish the job he started. I then had to find another garage to complete the work. I took it to Halfords service centre and they carried out a DPF clean for £85 and now my car is fixed. I booked days off work to have it fixed and got messed around for 3 days. I am now going through the complaints department and if needed the courts to reclaim the money.
