David Thomas trained as a vehicle mechanic at a local main dealer and progressed to service manager. He left there and joined Alfa Romeo as a car tester ultimately assuming responsibility for a workshop and team of technicians looking after their extensive press and demonstrator fleet. In 1983 David left Alfa Romeo to set up his own business initially in premises in Hatfield, Hertfordhsire, before acquiring our existing workshop in Codicote in 1989. We have continued to grow our business here to the current day. We now employ seven technicians, all of whom are fully skilled. Three of them were trained from school to the current day by ourselves. Staff regularly attend training courses to keep them up to date in the latest technology. We repair all makes of vehicles and due to David's vast experience, Alfa Romeo is our speciality. We have been involved with the Alfa Romeo racing championship for over 15 years as competitors and preparers. We have always invested heavily in equipment, we have the latest Bosch diagnostic computer also electronic testers from Snap on and Sun. We also have the Alfa Romeo / Fiat examiner diagnostic analyser. We are part of the Bosch car service network for us this means that we have access to the latest diagnostic equipment and technical help desk- Bosch are the world's largest supplier of vehicle electronic components and systems. They also have a state of the art training facility in the UK. For our customers it gives them the reassurance that we subscribe to the office of fair trading approved garage code, which sets a very high standard to which we must conform. We are subject to regular independent assessment to check that we are following the code. It also gives the reassurance that all our work and the parts we fit are fully guaranteed. The whole scheme is underwritten by Bosch and they will arbitrate in the unlikely event of an unresolved problem. Our workshop is fully equipped to carry out repairs and servicing on the vast majority of modern vehicles. We can service vehicles which are still under manufacturer's warranty without affecting the validity of that warranty.
