Needed to have ABS sensors fitted, the ones I supplied didnt fit but they were able to run a diagnostic check and get the exact parts and fit them then and there. No hassle, easy to deal with and gave me a print out of diagnostic sheet for my own keeping. Would recommend.

The work requested was for a Full  Service as well as a Timing Belt Change. The day before the work was due to be carried out I received a phone call from Newtownabbey Autos explaining that their only mechanic capable of changing timing belts has hurt himself and the work will be carried out on the acquired date.

Details of the injury and return date were extremely vague. I called daily to try to find out when this work could be carried out but was consistently told to keep checking. This is despite me describing my mileage (approaching 100k) and desperately needing the timing belt changed.

In the end, a week or so after the agreed date I finally got a straight answer. The mechanic would not be returning and I should just bring the car up for the service. When I explained that the timing belt was my priority I was told that despite the manufacturer of my car stating that the timing belt needs replaced every 100k, they are designed to run twice that and I dont need to replace it. This I know to be false (or at the very least extremely irresponsible).

I have now had to resubmit my job to new vendors and am waiting to have the work carried out by a reputable garage.

N.B. I spoke of this to a friend of mine who was horrified I had even considered using Newtownabbey Autos. He left a BMW with them a while back and when he got it back there was an extra 3k miles on it. His words words were literally "stay away from them". His opinion, not necessarily mine but I feel that given the service I received its important to mention.
