Manual Gearbox Repairs, Vauxhall ZafiraWas asked to pay £555 upfront cost as I had a key worker discounter on gearbox replacement , then the money for clutch to be paid after work completed. 5th of January car collected , later than the date it was suppose to be collected. Rang up Friday for a update to be told the car isn’t on the ramp yet but it will be on Monday . Then was told due to Covid check they couldn’t do it yet. Rang them every Monday and Friday just to be given excuse after excuse. Then one Monday I emailed and was told the car is officially on the ramp then was told some seal had broken and the car was leaking everywhere so they couldn’t put gear box or clutch on until the seals had a arrived as if they put the car back together it would make it worse , the seals they had to order from Vauxhall so I left it a week. 5th of feb was told the car was still waiting for seals to arrive ,car was taken off ramp put back together even tho was told previously they could not put together until seals had arrived as would cause more damage. So I asked to refund me but they said they couldn’t as only bank on certain days even though I bank transferred them , they kept reeling off more excuses but eventually they paid and said they would return the car on 8th. 8th came I contacted yet again this time recovery driver they use wasn’t well and wouldn’t be back for another week, told me I could recover the car myself , but my car dosent move so obviously I’d have to get a recover truck to collect it . Was told we will recover your car to you on the Monday 15th . So I waited wrote to them Friday to verify and they said they had space to fix my car on the Wednesday but I said just return car . Monday comes I contact and again a excuse the driver isn’t answering his phone, so I emailed saying that they could easily ring a different recovery company as they said they would collect and return car , then I get a very unprofessional email from them. So I got the car recovered at own cost of £70 which they will not pay even though they had said previously they would get car to me and considering they have had my car for nearly 2months without repairing it you would think some kind of compo would be in order.they have said without invoice they would take 40% off the £70 I paid to have it recovered. They have a pdf of the transfer I made to the recovery driver but they won’t class this as evidence.So no money back So to sum it they collected my car with recovery truck. Had it for 6 weeks. Said they would get it recovered back to me but never did was forced to pay a recovery truck out of own money which they know and they know it cost me £70 they have all my bank details but not paid me the cost of recovery . Asked for proof so emailed through pdf of bank transfer which they won’t class as evidence. Previously posted a review which was told by them take it down and we will pay the recovery costs....now my pdf of payment isn’t good enough so won’t pay . So now I’m out of pocket had no car for 6 weeks and not even a car repaired . It’s in another garage right now getting the repair done. I told the new garage about what they said has broke (seals) and they will check. It’s now Wednesday 17th and new garage will have my car completed by this eve . Have all there emails with excuses and the unprofessional aggression towards myself so it backs up all complaints ,CAB have been informed so have trading standards so will see what goes on from there
