Having got an initial quote of £372 for timing belt and water pump I delivered the car only to be told the price should be £650, but they would do it for £500. Reason was that the parts were expensive and it was 3 hours labour. The initial quote was a guide apparently. As the actual fee was higher than the car's worth I took the car back, got the parts for £90 and have just completed the work in a day using a workshop manual. I'm just angry that the initial quote was so wide of the mark for a standard job on a very common vehicle. Won't be going back.
Smart Quotes as you received for a timing belt and water pump are an automated response sent to work requests by Who Can Fix My Car and not D&G Autocare. As stated "Smart Quotes are a good indication of what a garage will charge" D&G Autocare as other garage users of the WCFMC platform have no or very little control over the Smart Quotes sent to work requests. The estimate was not updated by D&G Autocare WCFMC admin as engine variations and component fitments vary as do the price of the parts and replacement times. Volkswagen Audi Group vehicle the engine code, VAG PR code, or access to the main dealer site is required to be able to price exactly for a repair. Regards D&G Autocare WCFMC admin
Excellent service from start to finish. The driver that collected/ delivered the car had hearing impairments and he was lovely. I loved the fact he had been given a worthy job with this great company, so another plus factor that it’s a company that cares. Car was serviced well and I had an MOT performed all with no issues. The price was so reasonable against the dealership £368 quote. I will be using this garage again for the next service. Thanks guys well done and keep up the great work!
Had my car motd, only failed on a headlight too high and an advisory for a new tyre,. I asked the guy who rang me could he get me a new tyre which he said he would and he did,. Problem was when he put the new tyre on he broke the locking nut which meant if I got a flat tyre I couldn't change it myself because I had no locking nut to get the other tyres off. In the end it cost me £45 to get a different garage to remove the other locking nuts off which I shouldn't have had to pay for since it wasn't my fault he broke it in the first place.
Very simple to organise through my garage. Easy instructions, was welcomed by friendly staff who answered my phone call enquiry once I had found the nearest available garage to me with the availability to offer air con re gas.
