well where do I start with my praise for everyone at VRS REPAIR SERVICES who go that extra mile to put their customers first, after being totally ripped off quote wise by the big high street exhaust companies one of which refused my car because the manifold bolts were seized,VRS came to my help within minutes of posting on the site, cost was quarter than the high street exhaust places and an extremely fast turnaround. before paying any expensive high street fitting centre costs give VRS a call you will not be dissappointed, am so pleased to find these guys. VRS = VALUE RELIABLE SERVICE. Thank you VRS your a credit to the auto trade

Would of gave a 6 if I could, couldn’t recommend them enough!
Thank you Mark and PSA for replacing my clutch and flywheel. I was in a tricky situation because, I’m sure like everyone, I depend on my car for work and family. I had been given some eye watering quotes for the job. I’m really happy with the price and the quality of the job. My car is now purring rather than rumbling! The job was done quickly and communication was excellent. It was a huge relief to get my car back and all sorted by the afternoon. I recommend this garage, even if it is slightly out of your area bear it in mind because of the value and quality of the work, which can be really hard to find. Especially as a woman going into a garage, prices and service seem to vary a great deal. I’m very happy with the outcome. Thank you!
Very happy from get-go, explained clearly what would need to be done, called and advised about additional part replacement even send the picture of the part so I could see the damage. Job completed very quickly, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Working away from home and your car fails on you is the worst thing in the world,But thanks to PITT STOP AUTOS they saved me from the moment of contact to delivery of car repaired can't think the team enough worked late to get it done for me very professional work and to talk to,Defo recommend these guys to any 1 and will use again if needed. Guy I spoke to was very professional and helpful. Told me exactly what was wrong with the car and also pointed these out. Had agreed to go and get the job done tomorrow morning however my dad suprised me telling me he's booked me in somewhere else and had already paid! Good value for money and feel bad my dad took business away from you! Would deffinately recommend people to try this garage.
Really impressed with the service at Tripal Garage! Having been given the wrong advice from another garage, Parm was very honest about what did need sorting on the car and did it at a very reasonable price. Will be using this garage from now on! Thank you.
Parm was very helpful and friendly. The price was fair and completed very quickly. Would definitely reccomend. Great new clutch- even if it does feel like i'm driving a whole new car!!
This guide has been created to help you understand what an engine control unit is, what role it has to play in your car engine, what can go wrong, what the signs to look out for if there is a fault and what is involved in an ECU repair.
If you need a quote for an ECU repair on your AC from garages in Newcastle upon Tyne simply enter your details in the form above and we’ll get the best prices in your area.
The ECU is responsible for ensuring that the engine in your AC is running at its optimal performance.
There are a huge number of sensors in your car engine which are critical in reporting how your engine is running as they feed information back to the ECU which in turn makes adjustments.
One variable controlled by the ECU is the Air/Fuel Ratio.
Every engine needs oxygen to works as they work by combustion. Therefore it is essential that the correct amount of air gets into the engine when it needs it. This is also true of fuel injection, if the engine requires more fuel at a higher rate then the rate in which fuel is delivered needs to be higher. This is where the ECU comes into play. When you accelerate, the ECU will deliver a higher amount of fuel and air into the engine.
It is an essential function which is vital for allowing an engine to operate properly.
There are a huge number of functions like this which are come under the supervision of the ECU. This example highlights how important it is to the performance of your AC and this is simply one of many functions performed by the ECU.
It can be difficult to know if you have a ECU problem, which is why we have provided some tips below to help you spot the signs of danger.
There are a multitude of reasons for the check engine light to come on and one of them may be a faulty ECU.
As soon as the light comes on its important to take your AC for a service, make sure that the ecu is checked during the test as some garages may not decide to carry it out.
If your car won’t start you may have a dead battery, faulty electrics or a damaged ecu. If the problem is not electrical then it is highly likely that the ecu is the part causing the issue. By calling a mobile mechanic out to your car you will be able to diagnose the problem quicker than getting your car towed to a garage in Newcastle upon Tyne.
If there is a noticeable drop in the performance of your engine or drop in fuel economy this will likely be caused by the ecu or the on-board computer. Its important to keep an eye on the rate that you use fuel as well as listening out for the tone of the engine changing as this can be an indicator of an issue caused by a faulty ecu.
The ECU is an expensive piece of a car engine and so having it repaired or replaced could set you back depending on the extent of the damage.
An ECU can often be reprogrammed as part of a repair as the fault lies in the settings of the part being wrong.
Garages will be able to provide this service as well as online businesses which specialise in reprogramming ECU’s.
Remember that you can get quotes form garages in Newcastle upon Tyne by simply entering your details in the form above.

However the ECU can also be repaired by simply reprogramming the settings which may only cost you around £150.
