Couldn't recommend Patrick enough, very helpful and went out of his way to ensure the job was done as quickly as possible. Even dropped the car back to my house which was great. I needed a new clutch and flywheel (£1250) for a Lexus IS250. Was quoted just under £2k by a Lexus Dealership.
I would rate at 5. Done what they said they would in the time given. Car feels like new. They go over and beyond repairs. Picking your car up and returning to you. Would definitely use again and would recommend to all including my own family! A clutch and fly wheel cost me £800. Was quoted £998 for clutch and if I had fly wheel changed £1423 by the local dealership. I have a mini. Need I say more! Happy customer for sure
Paul was absolutely fantastic, I am not exaggerating, he was brilliant. I cannot recommend him, Automotive Components highly enough. There were no hidden extras with the price quoted, and his advice was welcome and refreshing! Ive told all my family, friends and colleagues about him and his service, I hope that he doesn't get too busy though as he is now my dedicated mechanic!
Patric is a great man he knows what he is doing plus he good at his word
Quote was very reasonable compared with the dealership I have been using. Patrick collected car, did job and called me when he was leaving to return it. All done , no hassle. Nice guy, will be giving him another job to do in the next 2 weeks, Well pleased up to now, would recommend
Accepted this job about a month after quote(July) and have just had work done end of august.price for work still the same. Very good value for both mot and service. Rang day before too arrange pick of car from my work place which was free. They said they would ring with time for pick which they did. All work completed and car dropped back off before I finished work. All staff were friendly. It was so easy.
Great sevice. Really frendly and helpfull Thanks xxx
They were excellent!
It was good to be able to nearly put my windscreen through again by having newly working brakes haha. Seriously though, professionally done and I'm delighted with the work and fair price. Thanks again!
Excellent from them picking car up from work address to bringing it back.no problems.staff on phone and mechanic both polite and helpful. Was just really stress free.
Not only did Drivers Autocentre pick up and return my car at no extra cost (thanks David) they kept me informed of progress during the day, did everything that was asked of them and ensured I got a full verbal & written report on completion of the service. Can't thank them enough...... I'll be back!!
Happy with the service
Perfect! Picked the car up, dropped it back, did everything that was asked
Excellent service. We arranged an appointment for the morning after. They called to say they were going to be 10 minutes late. They changed my car's battery in my parking in 10 minutes and they sent a receipt via email. Very fast and professional.
Absolutely well done
Arranged nite before for work to be done next day witch was brilliant , quick and good quality work , friendly helpful staff , will be using Goodfellas autos in the future Would highly recommend.
Simple professional process supplied and did not overload the price and was 30% cheaper than the rest of the garages quotes received . Was told would take two hours and arrived back after 1 hour 40 minutes and job was completed and parked up and ready to go . Drove it home and brakes and steering was tight responsive and could stop on a sixpence . Definitely intend to use this garage again for future works even it means going out my way and waiting around .
Lovely garage nice and helpful. Had all new pads and dics fitted at the agreed price. Only one thing was the information given after they were fitted....I wasn’t advised to drive slow as the brakes need time to work properly, so was a bit shocked when I left the garage and tried to brake like normal and my car took ages to stop. Could of been very dangerous, should of been told the correct information before leaving the garage. I would recommend this garage, worked quickly and kept me updated with the progress.
Great service from these guys, swift replys when enquiring and speedy service when getting the service, dropped the car off in morning and had it back after finishing work
Haven't used your site before but on doing so I was very impressed with Steins Garage Edinburgh. Craig Stein was very quick to get back to me following my initial enquiry. I am pleased to say that a full service was carried out today and that the price quoted was the price paid. He recommended new front tyres in a couple of months time. (I was expecting this) My car was booked in, serviced and I picked it up mid afternoon. I was very impressed with the service given, the price paid and an honest recommendation. I will definitely be going back and will gladly recommend this garage to my family and friends. Very satisfied customer. Well done.
Excellent service Ana a very friendly and honest staff.
Booked in late but made space for me and ready early
Excellent communication. Had to rearrange as couldn't make it for the first appointment, had absolutely no problem doing that. Highly recommend the garage. Left the car in the morning and was ready for 1pm.
The Boys were great although the job was not done they were very informative and kept me up to date thank you for trying.
Friendly staff, brilliant service
Brilliant Fast response from these guys. Replaced my front brake pads at short notice A++++
Really good service at a great price. Price was only higher than estimate as I decided to get a full service rather than an interim.
Got a cheap quote on getting my front wheels tracked for 30£. Got there and got sent to some other garage to get the job done ( they couldnt see me the same day) after having already paid for the job at m60s and even if I specifically stated that I need it done the same day. ( I WOULD NOT ASK YOU TO FIX IT IF YOU WOULDVE TOLD ME THAT YOU CAN NOT HONOUR YOUR WORDS). I was asked to come back the second day which I could not do. I had to leave the country for a while and when I got back it took another few trips (foe example I've booked an appointment for 10am on a saturday..got there and got asked to come back a few hours later?! I HAVE BOOKED IT A FEW DAYS IN ADVANCE!!! ) to have other issues sorted out except for what I have paid for before...I am VERY UNHAPPY with the garage...it seems like nobody gives a damn about you..things not being fixed in time...nobody calls you when the car is done IF it;s done..ive been insisting on the phone and now im really angry after spending way too much money on taxis when I couldve spent 10-15£ more and fix it asap. Also, on the same number im speaking with 3 different guys...1 is alright the other 2 seem not to know much about whats going on..i dont know how the garage has the rating it has because they definitely didnt care about me and my car.
Panel beating is a job carried out by specialist bodywork technicians who are able to utilise specific tools and techniques to reshape the metal on the body of a car.
If you are involved in an accident, it will often be the body that takes the brunt of the damage as panels on a car are designed to absorb impact and reduce the force of a crash by cushioning the blow.
Even though a car may have suffered a huge impact, it doesn’t always mean that the panels need to be replaced.
Panel bashing involves using a huge variety of tools to manipulate the metal and get it back to it's original shape.
Depending on the extent of the damage, the amount of time and money spent will vary, however the cost is likely to be less than replacing an entire panel.
Getting a respray is a quick and easy job which most specialist body shops will be able to carry out.
Depending on the facilities at the body shop you choose, the time the job will take will vary.
Some specialists will have state of the art spraying booths and work with classic and high end cars, these facilities will be able to deliver the highest quality of respray work as the paint and delivery system will be the best avaliable.
However the job is likely to be more expensive than a conventional body shop.
The time taken and cost of the serivce will depend on the type of paint and the size of the area requiring respray.
Wrapping a car can help protect the paintwork from weather, chipping and rusting as well as UV rays which can fade the paint on your car.
Furthermore if you happen to scratch or scuff your car, the wrapping will take the brunt of the damage and so protect the underlying paint.
You can have your car wrapped to display specific graphics if you are interested in changing the aesthetic of your car. If you want a stripe on your car or other shapes, you can make the request from a specialist who will provide you with a quote.
Before a vinyl wrap is applied; all of the lights, door handles, trims and badges will be removed from the body of the car.
Special car wrapping surface cleaner will then be applied to your car before the wrap is applied.
Welding is an important part of bodywork car repair as it is essential for fixing different pieces of metal together.
Welding is a highly skilled job and should not be attempted unless you are a trained professional.
There are a huge amount of uses for welding on a vehicle as new parts can be created and existing ones can be repaired.
Many different parts of a car can be repaired with the help of a welding expert so do not think your car is written off if something falls out of the engine!
Rust removal can be a job completed without the need of a mechanic, however it depends on the extent of the damage and the area which is affected.
Rust forms when an anode, cathode and electrolyte combine.
The metal in your car acts as the cathode and anode which reacts with water (the electrolyte).
Even if your car is under cover, rust will form as a result of these elements coming together if the climate is humid enough.
You can buy specific products online which can help remove rust which are effective at repairing damage, however its effectiveness will vary on the extent of the damage.
The cost of a rust repair will once more depend on the extent of the damage.
Getting a scratch or scruff is common for cars in the UK however they can be perfectly removed with the right technical knowledge, tools and materials.
It’s important to remember that even if you have suffered from extensive scratching or scuffs, a trained professional has the ability to remove them with precision.
Removing a scratch is far cheaper than having an entire body piece replaced like a bumper so always check with a body shop to see if they can remove a scratch before replacing anything.
On average it doesn’t take too long to have your body work repaired when it comes to scratches and scruffs.
It’s important that you get a car scratch removed as soon as possible as it may get worse over time and the value of your vehicle will reduce!
Having a scratch removed by an expert is the best option unless you are a trained professional, as there are a variety of materials and techniques involved in the process.
The cost and time taken to complete the work will depend entirely on the extent of the damage to the body work so make sure to get as many quotes as possible to avoid paying over the odds.
The mechanic will apply the paint to the car scratch, or car scuff, as part of the bodywork repair. The Paintwork repair required for removing car scratches and car scuffs shouldn’t vary in time or cost greatly, from garage to garage.
The bodywork required on a car restoration will be significant as whole panels are likely to require replacement and the ones which stay as part of the original vehicle, will need to be welded, have rust and scratches removed.
A full restoration make take years and they often do, as mechanics and hobbyists use their spare time and money to build their own cars.
A huge amount of car body work will be required on restorations as all of the components will be required to be removed and fixed back into place during different stages of the work.
Dent repair is one of the biggest parts of body work repair and is essentially the same as panel beating or panel bashing which is covered at the top of this guide.
SMART repair (Small, Medium Area Repair Technology) is a type of service offered by mechanics which is includes the use of specialised tools, paints and materials to provide your car with a good as new finish on an area which may be damaged.
Before the technology existed, if a panel was damaged, the entire piece would have to be replaced meaning more money and time would have to be spent on car maintenance.
The advances in technology mean that the speed and effectiveness of body work repair is significantly improved.
According to YouGov research, 65% of cars in the UK are carrying damage which could easily be repaired using SMART repair.
