Their quote was the cheapest (without parts), and was the only one available within two days, had good communication and did the job on time. I am very satisfied with the work and would go back in future.
Rob and his team were fantastic. No fuss, speedy and solid mechanic. The final price was slightly higher due to an additional part that was required, but Rob was an excellent communicator and kept me informed at every step of the way. Highly recommended.
Great service, really happy. My car runs great now. They are very thorough with service! Definately recommended. Very friendly too. Will use again. Thanks.
Auto Plaza was very exceptional with customer service and explaining what they would have to do to determine which part had failed. After removing the gearbox there was unusual wear on the pressure plate. The flywheel was had not been made correctly. So I asked the Rob to order and fit new flywheel and clutch kit. They also replaced my sump plug which was rounded. And my Camshaft gasket which was leaking. I would defiantly recommend Rob and his team down at Auto Plaza. Thanks Guys Great Job much appreciated. Chris
Great and professional service, good communication.
Really great service. Polite and professionals! Always available to contact and happy to provide any sorts of advice. I had my car on a full service and MOT. Job done within the agreed time. Will definitely return.
Very straightforward and honest, told me straight away what was going to happen and worked right away. Got my Left Wing mirror kicked off by a random drunk, they fixed it within 3 hours of receiving the parts, would recommend and the finishing product looks brand new. Very very helpful.
Great service, didn’t take too long price was decent considering the damage
Excellent experience with C&R Motors! Prior to my appointment Robert's communication was spot on and no matter how many questions I had he gave professional and prompt answers. Not only was the service excellent, honest and quick but also Robert is a very polite and straightforward guy to deal with. He told me exactly what was going to happen and when and he finished when he said he would. He advised me after that there are a couple of minor issues I need to address before the next MOT. I know from experience in the past that other garages would have falsely failed the MOT and got me to pay for these unnecessarily early. He cleaned the car after the service and finished when he said he would which made planning my day easy. This was my first service since buying the car and I have just driven home very happy because the car drives so much smoother than before. I didn't realise how choppy the performance was until the full service made a MASSIVE difference noticeable afterwards. I agonised over choosing a Garage and I think I've found a gem. All in all, Robert has my business from now on. Honest business, nice people in the team and fair price. Can't ask for more. Recommended!
Very good. My Bmw 3series i318 from 2002 was having heavy misfires, rough idles and would lose power in the middle of driving. I decided to take to to C and R motors. Since they were working on a few cars already so until its my turn it would take an hour or two, so i deiced to leave the car there and come back home. Upon starting work on my car, i was kept up to date on the situation, what they found and what they were doing. The next day morning i was given a call by them telling me the car is ready to pick up. To my surprise the car had been fixed and it turns out to be a much more simple problem compared to what i actually thought. I believe it was the VVT sensor acting up. I was charged £180 with Vat for the manual labor/replacing Spark plugs with higher quality ones and the diagnostic test itself. Overall i would recommend this place, they know what they are doing and they do their job honestly.
You couldn’t meet a nicer and more honest guy. Akash is punctual, polite and a competent mechanic. Couldn’t ask for more. He did a great job changing my timing belt and major service for a great price - no con man tricks for a change.!! Plus the car came back clean and fragrant.!! Will be keeping him as my mechanic from now on!
Akash did everything exactly as he said he would. Sent a reminder message the evening before arrival, so another 10 mins before arriving and got to me when he said he would. Akash was polite and professional and friendly. He fixed an extra belt for me and didn't charge any extra labour. He also diagnosed another two ossie with mine and my partner's cars. I can thoroughly recommemd him and will definitely be using him for my servicing and repairs in future. Totally satisfied with the service received.
Excellent service, Akash was very polite, knowledgeable. I certainly will call Sky Motor Service again and I highly recommend then , good value for money.
Professional, punctual and hassle free - will use again.
Very satisfied with Sky motors from start to finish, great customer service too. Would highly recommend.
Friendly staff, helpful and no surprises with the price. Would definitely recommend.
Very good service, I was really happy with the customer service
Good service nice people
Good service. Was kept informed of what was needed the whole time.
Very nice and friendly Garage. Allow me to bring my own parts to put on the car at a reduced price. Would definitely recommend.
Bad service
Really nice guys, completed the work on my car and explained all work done. Would recommend to all.
Excellent and swift service. Thank you.
Got car MOT'd and serviced by Sloane Services. It was more expensive than the online quote, but that was because it needed two new shocks and two tyres, and fitting the shocks was a lot more labour. So it was good value, and it was done to time and they were a pleasure to deal with.
Helpful at providing advice!
Professional and friendly approch. Work properly done in really a short time. Highly recommented.
Good value for money. Paul was very friendly and he fixed my car In no time. Very nice and satisfactory experiance. I Will recommend to everybody who want good service. Thanks Paul, just in time to organise my trip.
Friendly and efficient service, wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
Paul was really helpful and had the fan and re-wiring done within a couple of hours and I picked my car up the same day. They also cleaned it for me which was an added bonus and greatly appreciated! Im sticking with this garage from now on!
Like most car owners, I have my preferred garage but tried Paul and his team when my usual place couldn't urgently schedule a repair to pass an MOT. Paul took the car in the next day, talked me through the whole process, gave me options and completed an excellent job exactly when he said he would. Would highly recommend.
An interim service is carried out on a car by a mechanic, who checks a number of key components and parts of a car.
An interim service can be extremely helpful for finding minor problems before they develop into major ones as many parts of a car will naturally wear down over time. The ones at high risk will usually be checked during an interim service.
For a driver, having an interim service carried out is a smart move as you may not realise there is a problem developing and it could end up costing you even more money down the line.
It is also recommended that you should get an interim service every 6,000 miles.
What would you prefer, to replace a pressure gauge or have your car written off entirely due to the head gasket blowing!
The difference between a full service and an interim service is the amount of parts checked. As the name suggests, an interim service will be less thorough than a full service.
However, that does not mean that a lot is checked during an interim service!
In the next section, we will list what is checked during an interim service.
If you would like to know what is included in a full service, click here to see a dedicated page.
Engine oil is absolutely vital for keeping your car is good health and serious damage will be cause to a vehicle if there is low or none existent engine oil.
This is one of the easiest things to check and will always be included in an interim service.
Brake fluid is vital for the brake system as it is responsible for applying pressure to the pads and discs when bringing a car to a halt. If there is a small leak in the braking system, the liquid will inevitably pour out. This will then prevent you from braking all together so it is vital that this never happens!
During the winter months, if a car is left outside for an extended period of time, it will be subject to potential problems. Coolant is a liquid which runs through a car engine, keeping the level of heat and friction down, similar to engine oil.
The radiator needs to have a healthy supply of coolant to operate and keep the engine cool, which is why it is vital there is also enough anti-freeze in the system as well. If the coolant freezes and you start your engine in cold weather, your engine could overheat and damage could be caused extremely quickly.
Having enough windscreen wash may not strike you as critical, however, if you are driving your car and your view of the road becomes obstructed, you need to be able to wash your screen.
Like brake fluid, power steering fluid is checked in an interim service and the reason are exactly the same. Power steering fluid is critical for being able to steer a car and if there is a leak, or even air bubbles in the system, you will be in trouble.
If the problem is air bubbles, you can pump the clutch to resolve the issue, however, if there is a leak, a bigger repair will be required.
It is a legal requirement that you have working headlights so the wiring around rear and headlights will be checked during an interim service to ensure they are not at risk of cutting out.
Windscreen wipers naturally wear down over time and lose their ability to remove dirt and water from a windscreen. A mechanic will make sure your windscreen wipers are good enough to do this during an interim service.
The most common problem car batteries have is dying however, with a jump start, this problem can be sorted. A mechanic has no way of knowing if this will happen and so they cannot check for anything specific when it comes to this potential issue arising.
However, the integrity of a car battery could come into question and they can sometimes crack, resulting in battery acid spilling into the car engine. This is a very serious issue and so the battery will be checked for signs of damage during an interim service to ensure this does not happen to you.
The charging system is responsible for keeping your car battery full of power, if it is compromised, then it highly likely that you will suffer from a regular dead battery.
The alternator can be to blame for problems with the charging system and so will be checked during an interim service.
The most common issue the exhaust system suffers from is rust and leakage of dangerous fumes. There are several parts of an exhaust system which will be checked in an interim service including the catalytic converter which is responsible for taking the most toxic and dangerous elements out of the fumes created by a car engine.
A mechanic will mainly be checking for holes and rust when it comes to the exhaust system.
It is a legal requirement to have 1.6mm tyre tread depth in the UK as this allows a car to grip the road firmly, if it is any lower, you are actually breaking the law!
This will always be checked while an interim service is being carried out, as will a pressure check on your tyres.
A brake test will be carried out during an interim service to ensure your car is able to come to a stop properly. If your car cannot do this, there is a good chance the brake pads or discs have worn down.
Surprisingly, some drivers don’t realise that their steering isn’t what it is supposed to be which is why this service is provided in an interim service.
There may be a number of issues which would cause steering issues including wheel alignment, in which case, a simple fix is available.
The shock absorbers make up a part of the steering and suspension system and are self explanatory in their role in a car.
However, their effectiveness will drop over time resulting in a less comfortable ride for passengers. The large springs will be checked during a full service for degradation.
The suspension of a car is part of the steering system and so will be rigorously checked during an interim service.
As mentioned at the top of the text, an interim service can help identify problems before they arise as mechanics are trained to be able to recognise the signs of a part having issues at an early stage.
This means you will be able to avoid a serious and potentially dangerous situations developing in the future.
The cost of an interim service will vary depending on the garage and the car itself. At the top of the page you will be able to see what the average cost of an interim service is in the UK, however, you can get free and personalised quotes for an interim service using WhoCanFixMyCar.
