Work completed in good time, excellent service booking in car and collection. Price a lot cheaper thar the main dealer and also Halfords. Car cleaned inside and out. Very pleased, will use again. Bryan Priorslee Telford
A really good service, picked up and dropped off my car, cleaned inside and out, excellent job!
Very happy with the work undertaken , not happy with the call to say that the quote was wrong as the quote was in fact for one side not both. The result was the car disc and pads had been replaced as per the job but the price was for one not two,the fee would be ...would I be happy....No The price dropped and dropped but finished at £135.39 with its either that or we could take them off.The work had been done, the fee was paid and I received my car back. Advice would be make sure your quote is correct at the time ..
Had mot and other work done to the car. All done on the same day, so happy that I had my car back the same day.
Good communication , price was as quoted , overall very good service would recommend
Staff were very welcoming, helpful and very knowledgeable about the car.
Brilliant service, Staff were very helpful and the work got done quick time.
Established in 1974, Formula One Autocentres set out with a mission to deliver a completely new fast-fit experience to its customers. This would feature clean, modern premises, high-tech equipment and highly trained technicians; far removed from the kind of service normally associated with the industry.
Forty years down the line, we have grown to become one of the UK’s largest independent autocentre chains. The business remains family owned and continues to uphold its original commitment to delivering the highest quality service at the most competitive prices.
That commitment has proved incredibly popular with motorists, creating many thousands of loyal customers who continue to put their trust in Formula One Autocentres.
As a result, the company has gone from strength to strength, currently boasting over 85 state-of-the-art branches across England, with over 500 highly trained staff working seven days a week to provide a full range of services including tyres, exhausts, batteries, brakes, clutches, MOT's and servicing.
We remain resolutely independent, and as a family owned business, avoid being tied down to any single manufacturer or supplier. This gives us the freedom and flexibility to offer the biggest deals on the widest possible range of top branded products, making the company a viable, attractive and cost-effective alternative to both the big national chains and smaller local independent outlets. Quite simply, Formula One Autocentres provides cost-conscious motorists with the most reliable and affordable means of maintaining their vehicles.
We defend our position at the forefront of the fast-fit industry by constantly evolving and developing innovative new products and services to meet the ever-changing demands of our customers. With an ongoing expansion programme and by regular investment in technology, we continue to provide unbeatable fast-fit service along with the very best value prices. In fact, we can confidently claim that no other company is better equipped to face the motoring challenges of the future.

The majority of modern cars have air conditioning fitted as standard as it is vital for making the ride in a car comfortable for passengers.
An air conditioning system works by using refrigerant gas to push air through several components in the aircon system and then into your car.
Whether its freezing cold or boiling hot, it’s your air conditioning which makes driving in such conditions bearable, so it’s important to look after the system!
Surprisingly, over 10% of air-con gas escapes through the system each year. This means that the power of the system drops significantly over time. However, your air conditioning will not be checked during an MOT or service which is why it’s important that you make an effort to have it checked specifically.
Car manufacturers recommend that cars should have their air con recharged (Regassed) every two years.
Even if your car is new it should be something that you have checked as your cars performance could be significantly affected.
This is because the engine will have to work harder to produce cold air if there is an issue with the air conditioning meaning more fuel will be required to make the system work.
If the system has not been recharged in two years, the drop in engine performance will be noticeable.
As soon as you realise a drop in the power of your air con you should take the vehicle in for repair. If there is an unpleasant smell being emitted, this is another sign that the air con needs looking at.
The job of recharging air conditioning is not complex and will not take long.
The mechanic will carry out a leaks check on the air con system before the repair work, to ensure the job can be carried out without causing damage to the car.
As soon as this is complete, the technician will be able to recharge the system.
The mechanic carrying out the work will first remove old refrigerant from your car as well as the current gas and lubricant.
They will then replace it with new gas and lubricants.
The job will also typically include an entire system clean out which is carried out to remove any bacterial build up.
This is often the reason for a strange or unpleasant smell being emitted from the air conditioning which is why it is important to have this job completed every two years.
The whole process should take around 45 minutes as there are no new parts required for install.
The air conditioning in your car should be noticeably improved after a regas if you haven’t had one for over two years.
If you want to ensure your air conditioning stays in tip top condition, make sure to use it regularly as this the compressor will stay lubricated.Finding a mechanic you can trust to do a good job and charge a fair price, is not always easy, which is why we simplified the process.
We work with a network of over 10,000 mechanics and garages across the UK so we can find competitive air conditioning regas deals for you.
You can then compare the quotes and read reviews from previous customers to find the best deal in your area, before booking aircon regas online.
