Great friendly service. Waited in the garage for the car to be done and felt totally at ease. It needed a couple of extra things which were clearly explained to me and I was offered it if wanted these done there and then. Great garage and probably the first one I have felt comfortable taking my car to as a female. I will definitely be back
Team responded quickly to my car which wouldn't start (electric style fault) to get it collected and back to the garage for inspection. Even collected keys from my work. Fantastic!
Brilliant place will be using again.
will recommend to anywhone
Quick, friendly & efficient. Really good service
Excellent work was the first time I used this garage will definitely use again thanks
Decent garage, picked up and and dropped off car. Undercover for engine now seems to be hanging off but should be an easy fix for me to sort myself if I find a high enough kerb to get one of the sides of the car up on. Guys were good and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
Superb level of Service
Happy with job done
Garage done a good job, however, I had to phone them to see if my car was ready and once there to collect they didn’t really speak to me. The gentleman just asked for payment and I had to ask if there were any problems. Would use again.
Got a quote for rear break pads £59.00 and pads + discs £129.00. Needed both pads and discs replaced i new i would have needed them. Price was as quoted and great service my car was in and out within an hour. My regular garage was quoting £180.00 would definitely use again and recommend to anyone. First time user of who can fix my car i wish i had discover it years ago i would have saved 1000's. Thanks.
The job was completed efficiently and within the estimated time. Will use again without a doubt as I have recently started working in Bury and a near to local garage that gets the job done is essential. Would recommend Piston & Rotor.
Very helpful. Try to give me the best price what possible. Very happy with that garage! Will use it again!
Very helpful, quick turnaround
Absolutely brilliant! Very professional, polite, great communication and even noticed some other repairs that need attention, same day service, picked car up at 07:20 and had the car ready for pickup at 5pm I will be going back, highly recommend!!
Garage is ok.
Great service, fixed as stated and at price expected. Would recommend
I spoke to Patrick as I was in a pickle and I can’t thank him enough he solved every problem I had my car was stuck in a garage asking unreasonable prices. Patrick recovered the car solving that for me the same day as I spoke to him on the phone as I would of have had to call recovery otherwise. On the call he was open and honest about the work what was needed and when it would be done by he was knowledgable and kept all his promises about collecting the car and the price agreed on the phone and when it would be done by I recommend this garage and will be back if I need thanks again for all your help
Extremely fast and great service. They came and picked up my car the same day I chose them and dropped it off with a new clutch 2 days later. Customer service was exceptional, Patrick messaged me back straight away with any questions I had and was very helpful on the phone. Would definitely recommend and will be using them again in the future Thanks guys
It was a great service. We got the car back on the same day but then we found an issue with the car. Then we contacted the garage, they said it might be that the pulley was loosened during the service. They immediately came back the fixed the issue.
My timing belt slipped killing my engine and Audi Hatfield were charging me £4K labour only to fix my TT. I got the car moved to another Audi specialist who didn’t want to do the job! So I used this website and ASC stepped up to the plate. The quote was realistic to the damage I knew had happened. Patrick collected my dead car on a Thursday and I received updates until it was fixed on the following Tuesday. ASC even drove my car back to WGC. To say I’m impressed would be an understatement, the service and speed to fix my car (that was a big job) was exemplary. Paying the bill hurt but worth every penny as I was looking down the barrel of a gun and about to scrap a good car. The high reviews are well earned.
Friendly, quick and helpful! Cant fault them.
Good professional and quick
Did exactly what they said they would do for the price quoted and within the time scale stated. Will definitely be using this garage from now on. They are friendly, approachable and professional in their customer service.
Excellent service and very friendly. Very handy to have him just around the corner. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be using him again.
Car running fine, price was as quoted, had some extra work done
Small garage that know there stuff. Pointed on some problems that where real issues not up selling - Cheers Dave
Great service. Dropped my car off first thing in the morning and it was done very quickly. Even had use of a loan car whilst mine was getting sorted. Definitely will recommend and use again.
A brake, or brake pad is a system that safely enables a car to stop. Brakes get rid of the kinetic energy that helps the car move, which is done by using force of friction to convert this motion of energy into heat. Your car's braking system is made up of the following components: Brake discs, which spin with your car's wheels, Brake Pads, which push on the discs to slow the car, Brake Calipers which hold, and push, the pads, Brake Lines (or 'Hoses') which carry Brake Fluid, and your Brake Master Cylinder and Servo, which work to amplify the effort you use when pushing the brake pedal. Wear or failure of any one of these components will cause braking problems, requiring repair.
Modern cars have brakes on all four wheels which are operated by a hydraulic system and are made up of several components all of which are subject to stress which could result in breakage.
The front brakes in a car are typically the ones which play the greater part in bringing a car to stop as the weight of the car is thrown forward every time the vehicle comes to a stop.
There are different systems used for braking from one car to the next which suits the needs of the vehicle size and function.
The common hydraulic system uses fluid to apply pressure to pistons in the car close to its wheels to bring the car to a halt.
Some cars also have power brake assistance which helps to reduce the amount of effort required to apply stopping power.
If you need to have your brakes repaired there are several issues that could have caused the problem and several things that could be affected.
If you suspect you need your brakes repaired but your car is still drivable, there are some symptoms which could give you clues as to what the problem is.
The brakes are often the noisiest part of a car if there is an issue which means you should be able to hear a problem which cannot be said of many other broken car parts. Therefore, noticing the need for a car brake repair should be obvious. But you can check faulty brake symptoms here.
Brake pads are a critical component of a car and a vehicle cannot come to a halt without them functioning properly. Brake pads are fitted to the brake calipers which push the pads into the brake discs which are fitted to a car wheel. When a car is moving, the pads grip the discs to slow down the wheel and thus slow the car down.
A high amount of heat energy is created from the resulting friction as explained above and over time, this will wear brake pads down.
Brake pad replacement is a common job, the work to remove a worn-down-set is not complex so if you require a brake pad replacement, the repair will not be a lengthy one.
If you would like to understand how to tell when your brakes need servicing read our dedicated guide.
Brake discs are fitted to the car wheel itself and they are gripped by the brake pads.
Brake discs replacement is more expensive; the parts are more expensive than pads. Often pads are placed at the same time the discs are replaced.
If a mechanic advises you to replace your brake discs, they will likely suggest replacing the pads at the same time due to a the low cost of the part and the little extra labour time needed.
The cost of brake pad replacement may vary depending on the car make and model. This is because there are different sizes of brake pads and the cost increases as they get bigger. For example, a Land Rover will require a bigger set of brake pads as opposed to a Fiat Punto.

If you specifically require brake disc replacement, the work will take a similar amount of time to a brake pad replacement.
However, as highlighted above, the cost will be more expensive that pads due to the parts pricing.
Brake pads are changed by removing the wheel and unscrewing the bolts which hold the part in place. The part is then simply taken off the brake caliper and a new brake pad is fitted. The same process will be applied for each of the pads that need to be replaced.
There are many other common issues which can arise with the braking system which are not connected to brake pads and discs issues. The brake lines are susceptible to leakage as brake fluid can leak from the system if rust is untreated. The master cylinder is also a part of the braking system which can become faulty. There are several obvious signs that your brake pads and discs are not operating properly. If your car is taking much longer to come to a stop, it will be clear that there is a problem with your brakes.
