Job done at an extremely good price (almost 1/3rd of main dealer cost) Car picked up and delivered back. No complaints at all. Will certainly use again and recommend to anybody.
Fantastic service from Auto Solutions. Collected my car and re-delivered to my house fixed within 48 hours. Price rose slightly by my own choosing due to them suggesting having the timing belt replaced whilst they had already stripped the car back. Highly recommend them and will likely be using them again in the future, super fast service.
good service, friendly people. Replaced timing chain, filters and all tippers. No more rattling noise when I drive!!
Yes. This exceeded my expectations. They were very quick in fixing my break pads. Would highly recommend them.
Car was serviced as required only took 90 mins
Excellent services. In constant contact with Patrick was collected and return as stated. Price quoted was the final price. Patrick also touched up a couple of chips on the door edge and a smaller scrap on the back bumper ( within the quoted price). Totally satisfied with the finish and the expertise of the company. Would totally recommend them.
Great garage! Good guys who are professional and efficient. Will definitely return and recommend to everyone.
Very competitive price, handy location for me. Patrick is very nice fella, very helpful, sourced good quality (Bosch/Brembo) discs and pads. Job was completed speedily. Would whole heartedly recommend ACS. Came across this site and ACS only via google search. Very glad I did. Would use again next time I need garage.
Impressed. I placed a request on who can fix my car last SAT at 1900 hrs not expecting a reply until at least Sun or Mon, By 1915 Kas was on the Phone to me saying he could do my clutch problem for £300.I did explain that time was an issue for me I had a very early start on Monday for Work. No problem he said we will collect the car tonight and return it Sunday, I was rather apprehensive but agreed. Sunday Kas kept me informed of progress but because of a supplier issue he could not keep his promise of a Sunday return. But without fail the car was returned Monday rather late 2130 hrs with two of his employees and they were great one came with me whilst I did a test run. no problem there. the other chap stayed with my wife whilst she sorted the money out. she was so impressed she gave him a tip. I would have given 5 stars the reasons I didn't . payment in cash, caused me a few problem. No paper work apart for a receipt for the payment I aske about a breakdown for the work that had been done was told it would come online eventually that's not much help if you are planning to sell the car in the near future. but apart from that little moan hank you and well done.
All things considered it was a good experience (so far). I've asked them to carry out a specific task and they did it OK. They fixed my clutch on the same day (within 7 hours). When i was dropping off the car I was lucky to see my new clutch arrive (they use generic parts from Euro Car Parts). They provided transport for me to get to work and when the car was ready they dropped it off at my office. The only snag was the dreaded call half-way through the day. I was told that my gearbox had no oil in it and was advised to pay £53.5 for 4.5 litres of gear oil. I knew this wasn't possible, so I pushed back and somehow the price dropped to £32.5. I was offered to forgo the extra service item, but I was worried they could just drain the oil from the gearbox to make a point and I'll ruin the gearbox before I get home and add oil to it on my own. So i accepted. It's possible the gearbox was low on oil, but the guy on the phone clearly said: 'no oil, need 4.5 litres'. I think they just wanted to a bit more money to cover the extra cost of the clutch (they initially quoted £100 for it, but when they showed me a bill from Euro Car Parts it said £116). So on the whole, I would trust them with a specific task, but I wouldn't give them my car for a 'diagnosis'.
What an amazing garage. Beat all garage prices by 50 pounds. A very simple set up but the quality of workmanship is brilliant. I was waiting here for one hour whilst I was having my work done and I can say that this is one hell of a busy garage with a whole line of cars waiting to get their tyres put on and also customers wanting mechanical work done. This is now my new garage from now on as they are very transparent. Brilliant garage at an amazing price and great workmanship. Will highly recommend to everyone and also Kaz the owner is a very young smart guy and likes to talk about business and money. Whether it's a service or a major job then definitely use this garage. Thank you so so much to New Shepperton Tyres & Autocentre.
A clutch replacement was needed rather than attention to the gearbox and has solved the problem . The car was collected and returned within the timescale promised and I was able to check on progress over the phone. Full marks for that but less than full marks for the paperwork. Payment had to be by cash, no invoice appeared as promised and no receipt available either except a handwritten one on a piece of blank paper. They need to warn that only cash is acceptable and lrovide proper documentation of what’s done and confirmation of the guarantee period.
Great service 5* took my car to another garage they told me it was problem with pump got that changed then they told me no it's not pump it is clutch so took my car way and found this website who can fix my car. This was cheaper quote I got and after spending money on pump I didn't need in end I went with it they come to collect my car in afternoon at work and even gave me a car to drive which I wasn't expecting which saved me time and money as I was planning get train home from work. Next day got call in afternoon say not only clutch needed changing but gear stick was broken they even sent me a video to show me damage, didn't cost that much more so got fixed by time I left work at 5pm the next day car was with me and felt brand new. Saved me time and effort for pickup of car. Zak driver picked up my car was very professional and polite. Cash payment made on drop of my car after test drove it for 2-3miles. Good points - Service 5* - give you replacement car - pick up your car from any location - quick turn around 1day or same day service - great price comparison with others Bad points - cash payment - late on responding to calls and text - no recipet or paper work given All in all have more good then bad and can save you time and money would recommend to anyone.
For a small job turned into a bigger job but the team at the garage were really helpful, they noticed the air con rad was on its last legs and bent after after a minor front end crash, which bent both of them, so we gave him permission to do the extra work, then we followed up by asking for the hand brake cables to be replaced after a sloppy feeling hand brake the mechanic to notice both rear spring were cracked and missing the pig tail end, Chris and his team done all the jobs for a very good price as just for the parts from vauxhall they were 937 pound just for parts followed by 700 pound labour charge, so good service and excellent value for money, cheers Chris and team
Collected my car, fixed it, MOT'd it and delivered it back to me really quickly, and all for a really good price. Will definitely use this garage again next time I get stuck with a car problem :-)
An efficient and professional service that for the price above included a cam-belt and water pump change, oil and air filter change and synthetic oil change as well as a courtesy car whilst the job was being done. I should be able to award six stars. Thank you very much Swanmore Repair centre.
Very personable and professional, very competitive pricing. I added on oil change, filter and air-filter which was a very reasonable cost.
Brilliant service.Thank you
Very good job did as asked no hidden extra very happy
This is a fantastic group of people. I used to use them but have moved further away and had a terrible experience with a different garage. When I used WhoCanFixMyCar.com I learned that Pool Street will come and collect and return your car even as far away as I am. Much appreciated and unlike most they always stick to their word and don't charge for diagnosis or advice.
Great service, will be using again!
Easy to book,job done at a fair price,service with a smile,recommended.
Very good service would recommend to anybody
Couldn't be more helpful
Excellent Service !!! Honest and polite staff. You will not be disappointed
Final price was higher than original quote but this was due to other parts needed. These guys were quick and had great communication through the clutch replacement process but most importantly were 50% cheaper than tambridge garage in southwater quote - will 100% use these guys again
Great Service. Work completed on-time and to a very high standard. Very good value cam belt, tensioners & water pump change for works vehicle. On colecting the vehicle all Replacement parts had been retained for my inspection. . Better service than a main Citroen dealer A++++
Cold air, no fuss
Top job. Very nice guy. Turned up 20 minutes early. Work done. Customer happy. Thanx
Rob waited back for me so that I could drop my car to him after 6pm (close). He is extremely friendly. knowledgeable and helpful. He dropped me back to the bus stop near Tesco's. He updated me by midday that the car was ready for collection. When I turned up he showed me old part with numerous cracks. He had washed my engine as he said it had soot deposits due to the exhaust manifold leaks. I was very happy with the work and service and will reach out to Rob for future work. He also has professional facilities to carry out body work.
Excellent service the people at garage very friendly and helpful will definitely be back
Very good, very helpful staff. I would definitely recommend them, and would use them again
An exhaust system has the primary function of guiding fumes away from a controlled combustion section of an engine. The exhaust system on a car is carefully designed so the fumes omitted from the engine can be safely transported away from passengers in the car.
The exhaust system is made up of a several parts, all of which could cause potential issues if damaged. Though you only see the tail pipe from the outside of the car, the exhaust system is a large system.
The exhaust ensures fumes are transported from the engine all the way to the tailpipe at the back of the car. The gas flows down from the engine to the flange and onto the catalytic converter, it then travels on to the muffler and resonance chamber before going to the resonator and finally out through the tailpipe.
All of these parts have distinctive functions with piping connecting them along the bottom of the car. Each section of the system has to be completely airtight and functioning properly to ensure the gases are released into the outside environment safely.
Because there are several components of the exhaust system and because it usually stretches the full length of the car, costs can vary.
Depending on the area, part and extent of the damage, you are likely to pay different prices. Some repairs may only consist of sealing a small leak whereas others may result in replacing entire pipes or elements.
If there is a leak in the exhaust system, there is a chance that engine performance will be negatively affected. This is due to the escape of pressure at the wrong point of the system.
It is essential that an exhaust system is not damaged as leakage could pose danger to those inside the vehicle. Hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides could seep into a car if the exhaust is damaged. These gases are also extremely hot and would cause serious damage if they were to meet a passenger.
The piping in an exhaust system must be heat resistant due to the high temperatures of these compounds and if the exhausts integrity is compromised, anything close to the damaged area will be exposed to potential harm.
If your DPF is also blocked or not functioning properly, soot and particulate will escape from the system and cause damage to the environment and people in the surrounding area.
If there is an oil leak, there is only a very small chance that the problem is the exhaust system. This is due to the fact that engine oil doesn’t course through the exhaust like it does for a part like the head gasket.
However, if there is an oil leak, it may get into the combustion system and the result will be blue smoke coming from the exhaust.
A warning light will come on but it will not likely be the check engine light. This is because a problem with the exhaust will be detected specifically by oxygen sensors or the sensors in the DPF if your exhaust system is fitted with one.
A common symptom for a damaged exhaust is a loud roaring noise being emitted from your vehicle. This noise would indicate that you have a problem with the silencer part of the system. A common issue with silencers is corrosion by acidic moisture which is caused by a build-up of the damaging substance.
If a part of the system has cracked or a hole has appeared, you will be able to hear a hissing noise and a chugging sound could mean there is a blockage in the system. If the exhaust is leaking, the issue needs to be addressed immediately as the fumes are dangerous.
There is also a chance that the exhaust is leaking water, in which case, there is a crack or hole somewhere in the system as a possible result of a water leak from the head gasket.
If you hear the exhaust popping or rattling beneath your car it could mean that your exhaust has become misaligned and if you can hear a loud metallic vibration it usually means that something is hitting the exhaust pipe. It could also mean a clamp, mounting or support bracket exhaust is loose.
Hangers and brackets are essential for holding the system in place so if these parts become damaged there is a significant risk that the rest of the system will suffer damage as a result.
If you are able to get underneath your car, it is always the best way to check for signs of damage.
One of the most common issues associated with exhausts is rust build up, however this can often be a minor issue as some pealing of metal is not a huge issue.
If there is a build-up of rust on any part of the system, use a tool such as a screwdriver to see how strong the area feels, if the integrity is solid then the part won’t need replacing however if the metal feels weak when some pressure is applied, its time you get the part removed and a new one installed.
Black smoke coming from your exhaust means that your engine is burning more fuel than it should. This is often caused by a problem with your fuel injectors, air filter or fuel-pressure regulator. Alternatively, the fuel line could be clogged. Burning excessive fuel will have a noticeable effect on fuel economy meaning that you will be spending much more money getting from A-B.
If your exhaust in pumping out blue smoke, oil will have leaked into the engine and been burned in the system. This happens following the valve guide seals or piston rings wearing out and allowing engine oil into the combustion chamber. Engine oil is only meant for the lubrication of parts which are in constant contact with each other.
If engine oil is leaking into the combustion system, you need to have the issue addressed with an oil changeimmediately as low engine oil levels will be incredibly detrimental to your car.
If white smoke is coming from your exhaust, your car could be low on engine coolant from the result of a cracked or warped cylinder head, a cracked engine block or a head gasket failure from overheating.
If engine coolant gets anywhere near the combustion chamber, the liquid will be vaporised and converted into a white gas which is then pushed out through the tailpipe.
If the exhaust is smoking thick black, white or blue fumes, there is also an issue with the system as the exhaust should not be blowing this colour of smoke. To find out why your exhaust is blowing smoke use our dedicated guide.
