Very obliging, fault found quickly and recommended repairs carried out quickly and efficiently. Problem cured! Would recommend.
Had my volvo 240 Alternator (and belts) replaced here today. 100% happy with the job and high level of customer care I received. I didn't have any luck with the garage I normally use ( still awaiting a quote from when I phoned them on monday..) so i decided to try whocanfixmycar.com. In under an hour I got a message from Douglas at revolution vehicles, with a full quote - which included labour, VAT and the choice of a loaner car for the day. The price was very fair and it seemed no other garage wanted to take on this task, I happily accepted the quote and booked in with Douglas and his team. From the get go I was given great customer care - friendly, helpful and genuine. I was abit late to drop the car off as I broke down on the way, the guys there where very understanding in the situation, which helps when things don't go to plan! When dropping off my 240, I was shown around the facility and you just get the feeling the guys working there have the knowledge and experience to get your motor back on the road quickly and efficiently ( it was also backed up by the impressive collection of classic sports cars they are currently working on - Which included a lovely classic Lamborghini and e-type jag!) All in all, i am very happy with the level of service I received today. It can be hard to find friendly and genuine garages, it seems I may have stumbled upon a gem! Would happily recommend this garage to others!
I can’t recommend this garage highly enough. They were very friendly and the work was first class. They kept me informed throughout the day and the loan car was a bonus. I will be using them again.
I cannot thank Douglas and his team enough, finding a company who not only have the knowledge, understanding and expertise to complete a gearbox rebuild, they did it in less than 3 days and offered me a courtesy car whilst mine was with them. It is clear they are proud of their business, from initial engagement and discussions to the completion of work the communication was FANTASTIC. On arrival at the garage they showed me around the garage and I can honestly say I haven’t seen a cleaner well laid out garage. The mechanics were all friendly whilst a walked around and the other cars they were working on are certainly pride and joys for other customers who entrusted revolution vehicles to complete the work. They seem to enjoy and focus on resolving issues the best way rather than merely easiest. I was anticipating having to purchase a new gearbox for £4K from the dealer until revolution introducted themselves. Whilst completing the work they advised wear on the clutch which I had an idea may need replacing soon and gave me a good price to fit at the same time as dealing with the gearbox which will save me in the long term. I feel confident going forward that this will be my garage to go to for all my service and MOT work on my car. Very few businesses pride themselves as much in the professionalism and high work ethic, however I can certainly vouch for this business and already recommended them to friends and family. Thank you Douglas and colleagues for everything and I will see you in the near future for my further motoring needs
Very pleased with the service but feel the price was a little high. I has my clutch replaced and was charged ~£350 for Labour.
Sorry for late feedback. Finally navigated system. Contacted EMH on a Sunday, as I only had the Monday off work, and needed car sorted quickly. Errol phoned me at 10.20pm to make arrangements for me. Dropped the car off at 8.30am, work completed by 1.30. Excellent service, fair price. Work carried out explained on collection. Would definitely reccommend EMC. Thank you Errol.
Errol was brilliant! Did a full check of my car and put my mind at rest.
Very quick and efficient service, dropped back to my house so I could continue work. would use again.
fast and very friendly service. Good price. would highly recommend.
Came out fixed the car very pleased with the service would recommend.
Very good service,would recommend.
Excellent communication, very punctual and customer oriented. Repair was less then expected, and paid substantially less. I will keep this service as favourite even it is not in hometown. Thank you Laszlo!
Excellent work by Lazlo to change my brake pads and discs. He turned up on time and did the work in an efficinet and professional manner. I would use him again.
Would definitely recommend. Was a bit apprehensive due to low price but will use Lazlo for all my car jobs in the future
Laszlo was very efficient and nothing was too much trouble. We had already bought a new battery which unfortunately did not fit. He came and went to get the correct battery straight away and quickly came back to finish the job. Thanks so much!
Awesome work, picked up when they said they would, car came back clean, with the work done, and earlier than expected. Very highly rated, super quick, and great customer service
Did the brakes and mot, they did a great job and I would highly recommend them!
Great service and helped to accommodate an appointment time that fitted in with me. Took time to explain what was wrong and offered advice on some other issues I had with the car. Final price against quote changed due to requiring disks as well as pads, I was aware this could be the case and Joe had brought these along just in case.
Friendly, very prompt and reasonable cost. Will be using again in the future.

A brake, or brake pad is a system that safely enables a car to stop. Brakes get rid of the kinetic energy that helps the car move, which is done by using force of friction to convert this motion of energy into heat. Your car's braking system is made up of the following components: Brake discs, which spin with your car's wheels, Brake Pads, which push on the discs to slow the car, Brake Calipers which hold, and push, the pads, Brake Lines (or 'Hoses') which carry Brake Fluid, and your Brake Master Cylinder and Servo, which work to amplify the effort you use when pushing the brake pedal. Wear or failure of any one of these components will cause braking problems, requiring repair.
Modern cars have brakes on all four wheels which are operated by a hydraulic system and are made up of several components all of which are subject to stress which could result in breakage.
The front brakes in a car are typically the ones which play the greater part in bringing a car to stop as the weight of the car is thrown forward every time the vehicle comes to a stop.
There are different systems used for braking from one car to the next which suits the needs of the vehicle size and function.
The common hydraulic system uses fluid to apply pressure to pistons in the car close to its wheels to bring the car to a halt.
Some cars also have power brake assistance which helps to reduce the amount of effort required to apply stopping power.
If you need to have your brakes repaired there are several issues that could have caused the problem and several things that could be affected.
If you suspect you need your brakes repaired but your car is still drivable, there are some symptoms which could give you clues as to what the problem is.
The brakes are often the noisiest part of a car if there is an issue which means you should be able to hear a problem which cannot be said of many other broken car parts. Therefore, noticing the need for a car brake repair should be obvious. But you can check faulty brake symptoms here.
Brake pads are a critical component of a car and a vehicle cannot come to a halt without them functioning properly. Brake pads are fitted to the brake calipers which push the pads into the brake discs which are fitted to a car wheel. When a car is moving, the pads grip the discs to slow down the wheel and thus slow the car down.
A high amount of heat energy is created from the resulting friction as explained above and over time, this will wear brake pads down.
Brake pad replacement is a common job, the work to remove a worn-down-set is not complex so if you require a brake pad replacement, the repair will not be a lengthy one.
If you would like to understand how to tell when your brakes need servicing read our dedicated guide.
Brake discs are fitted to the car wheel itself and they are gripped by the brake pads.
Brake discs replacement is more expensive; the parts are more expensive than pads. Often pads are placed at the same time the discs are replaced.
If a mechanic advises you to replace your brake discs, they will likely suggest replacing the pads at the same time due to a the low cost of the part and the little extra labour time needed.
The cost of brake pad replacement may vary depending on the car make and model. This is because there are different sizes of brake pads and the cost increases as they get bigger. For example, a Land Rover will require a bigger set of brake pads as opposed to a Fiat Punto.

If you specifically require brake disc replacement, the work will take a similar amount of time to a brake pad replacement.
However, as highlighted above, the cost will be more expensive that pads due to the parts pricing.
Brake pads are changed by removing the wheel and unscrewing the bolts which hold the part in place. The part is then simply taken off the brake caliper and a new brake pad is fitted. The same process will be applied for each of the pads that need to be replaced.
There are many other common issues which can arise with the braking system which are not connected to brake pads and discs issues. The brake lines are susceptible to leakage as brake fluid can leak from the system if rust is untreated. The master cylinder is also a part of the braking system which can become faulty.
