Excellent service and quick response to resolve issues will come back again
Patrick was great, he's a genuine guy and I would highly recommend him for all car works. Picked up my car the very next day first thing in the morning, my car was repaired very quickly and for a great price.
Got this job just before Christmas, Very satisfied with all the work done, front n back pads and disks on a Range Rover.
Excellent service, quoted me 200 less than other garage and fitted me in straight away..all work done in 1.5hrs while i waited. Highly recommended, i will definitely be using them again.
Happy With the service overal
Very good service replace my brake pads in 1.5 hours. Very nice guy and a highly competitive price. Definitely worth using this garage. Thanks
Great garage. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Communication was really good and we were fitted straight in on the day we called. Car is a Mercedes GLA Needed a diagnostic check, which showed that I needed a new starter motor. Was given a very reasonable quote and was told that it could be done that afternoon. Work carried it was all good and car is working fine. Much better than going to Mercedes garage where it would probably have cost double the price. Thank you Inderjit and team for your prompt, reliable, friendly service.
This garage has some very talented mechanics, the job was finished in a very timely manner with zero faults. Definitely will come back there for future repairs
Good price and service. Highly recommended
This garage was brilliant. They saw me the next day as I was in a rush and had the work completed within an hour. They have competitive prices and are thoroughly professional. I'd highly recommend this garage.
Good quick service on Christmas eve. Labour charge slightly higher than expected but satisfied overall. Would recommend.
Quick and friendly service
Sorted any issues while highlighting anything else that needed. Took time and helped out and done a real good chop and cost effective
Very good service, tbh I wasn't sure what to expect, small garage in chingford absolutely no complaints good price will use again.
Daniel is an absolute gent. He’s sorted out my new car, full service and now a number of other things, all of which he’s sorted immediately for me. Will be my go to guy now for all work to be done and I can highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable mechanic.
Car Technic were very professional in answering all of my questions, Fitted genuine Audi parts at a price that was a great saving over the main dealer price, and I have a two year guarantee. Will definitely recommend.
It was a great job, thank you Daniel
Good. Prompt & pleasant service.
Fantastic from start to finish, Daniel was so helpful and professional. I HIGHLY recommend him, went above and beyond what he needed to do. It's easy to see why he has so many 5 start reviews. Thanks again Daniel.
Needed my van for work, the dpf emmisions needed repairing. His efficiancy was invaluable. Mike contacted me after an enquiry online. Efficient service and reliable. My van now back on the road so I can work for my buisness . Mike accommodated the times I requested to book my van in so I could get the van back on the road . Highly recommend this garage
As expected, it was not a regs issue. The heater motor had blown and needed to be replaced. Mike is incredibly busy, but was very efficient and good at communicating and setting expectations. He stuck to timelines and have us prompt updates and did not force us to make decisions. He switched the motor and got the car back to working order in less than a day. Thank you for your help, it was much appreciated.
Mike was polite very customer focused and has a lot of pride in his work and I would recommend Sphinx vehicle repairs to everyone I’ll definitely be recommending them to my friends and family
The service was just as advertised. A price including car pickup cost was agreed over the phone. Mike picked the car up from the house on the Thursday night, leaving his car, as agreed. He performed the MOT on Friday morning and called me to discuss the advisory points. He dropped the car off on Friday afternoon. The one improvement I would recommend is that the communication could be better between the job being accepted and the appointment date to give the customer peace of mind that they haven't been forgotten. That said, this appointment went well and I would definitely recommend and use his services again in future.
Great service, very knowledgeable personel. Would definitely go back if needed. Thank you Mike
This was the first time I used "whocanfixmycar.com" and Todaton Garage. I only selected Todaton as they were close by. Once my BMW X4 was dropped off, I was given regular updates on the progress, and also had the opportunity to speak directly to the knowledgeable technician . I was assured no parts or repairs would take place without my approval. The fault issue was identified (EGR value was malfunctioning) and new EGR value installed. Car was returned back to normal. Highly recommend Costa, Majid and the team!
Done all they could, friendly service. Thanks guys !
Good customer service
Very professional, knew what they were doing, would use again
Honest guys, no issues
I was really pleased with the overall service I received from - Mobile Mechanics and Tyres I was kept in the loop at all times. My vehicle was picked up and dropped off as expected with the work completed as I asked for. There was a nail in one of my back tyres and this was repaired as well. I have no hesitation in recommending Mobile Mechanics and Tyres. The quality of work is high and priced competitively.
Thank you Patrick and the team, I will definitely be back for my service soon.
Really, really good mechanic who goes out of his way to help you. Very genuine and has even helped me since repairing my brakes as I broke down. I've now moved out of the area but shall continue to use and recommend him.
Patrick came by promptly to replace my rear brake pads and discs first thing in the morning and had my car back by 12pm. The price was great and service was fantastic. Will be doing my MOT in mid January with these people, very reliable people.

A brake, or brake pad is a system that safely enables a car to stop. Brakes get rid of the kinetic energy that helps the car move, which is done by using force of friction to convert this motion of energy into heat. Your car's braking system is made up of the following components: Brake discs, which spin with your car's wheels, Brake Pads, which push on the discs to slow the car, Brake Calipers which hold, and push, the pads, Brake Lines (or 'Hoses') which carry Brake Fluid, and your Brake Master Cylinder and Servo, which work to amplify the effort you use when pushing the brake pedal. Wear or failure of any one of these components will cause braking problems, requiring repair.
Modern cars have brakes on all four wheels which are operated by a hydraulic system and are made up of several components all of which are subject to stress which could result in breakage.
The front brakes in a car are typically the ones which play the greater part in bringing a car to stop as the weight of the car is thrown forward every time the vehicle comes to a stop.
There are different systems used for braking from one car to the next which suits the needs of the vehicle size and function.
The common hydraulic system uses fluid to apply pressure to pistons in the car close to its wheels to bring the car to a halt.
Some cars also have power brake assistance which helps to reduce the amount of effort required to apply stopping power.
If you need to have your brakes repaired there are several issues that could have caused the problem and several things that could be affected.
If you suspect you need your brakes repaired but your car is still drivable, there are some symptoms which could give you clues as to what the problem is.
The brakes are often the noisiest part of a car if there is an issue which means you should be able to hear a problem which cannot be said of many other broken car parts. Therefore, noticing the need for a car brake repair should be obvious. But you can check faulty brake symptoms here.
Brake pads are a critical component of a car and a vehicle cannot come to a halt without them functioning properly. Brake pads are fitted to the brake calipers which push the pads into the brake discs which are fitted to a car wheel. When a car is moving, the pads grip the discs to slow down the wheel and thus slow the car down.
A high amount of heat energy is created from the resulting friction as explained above and over time, this will wear brake pads down.
Brake pad replacement is a common job, the work to remove a worn-down-set is not complex so if you require a brake pad replacement, the repair will not be a lengthy one.
If you would like to understand how to tell when your brakes need servicing read our dedicated guide.
Brake discs are fitted to the car wheel itself and they are gripped by the brake pads.
Brake discs replacement is more expensive; the parts are more expensive than pads. Often pads are placed at the same time the discs are replaced.
If a mechanic advises you to replace your brake discs, they will likely suggest replacing the pads at the same time due to a the low cost of the part and the little extra labour time needed.
The cost of brake pad replacement may vary depending on the car make and model. This is because there are different sizes of brake pads and the cost increases as they get bigger. For example, a Land Rover will require a bigger set of brake pads as opposed to a Fiat Punto.

If you want a good brake pad deal, you can compare quotes from garages near you by entering you details at the top of the page.
If you specifically require brake disc replacement, the work will take a similar amount of time to a brake pad replacement.
However, as highlighted above, the cost will be more expensive that pads due to the parts pricing.
Brake pads are changed by removing the wheel and unscrewing the bolts which hold the part in place. The part is then simply taken off the brake caliper and a new brake pad is fitted. The same process will be applied for each of the pads that need to be replaced.
There are many other common issues which can arise with the braking system which are not connected to brake pads and discs issues. The brake lines are susceptible to leakage as brake fluid can leak from the system if rust is untreated. The master cylinder is also a part of the braking system which can become faulty.
