Needed brake discs as well as pads hence the increase in price from original quote. Very happy with the service, quality of work and the price.Would recommend.
happy with the service and a friendly manner, and the job was finished for the quoted price, and so far so good with the replacement of the clutch.
Excellent garage, will use again. Work carried out quickly and worn parts shown to me and explained why they failed. Competitive price quoted and met. Fair and friendly.
Very good service nice people very good garage
Amazing service and price. Cannot recommend this garage and it's people enough. Impressed from start to finish.
Garage was great! Undertook some additional things i needed with the car. Plus replaced flywheel while all parts were off. feels like a new car now!! KDP provided honest and fair advice at all times. No frills approach. Got the job done quickly and efficiently at a price that was fair. Will be going back for some extra work once parts arrive! Good for those that work in town needing repairs while at work. Dropped me at the office too after i'd left my car and made whole experience easy...
Excellent, pick up and drop off. Honest
I had an engine misfire , and check engine sign was flashing on my dashboard. I was charged 25 pounds for initial diagnosis and was offered 10% off the cost of diagnosis , when I get it fixed with them. I was asked to drop in instantly and my problem was resolved in an hour. The diagnosis was good, and I dint feel like I was being ripped off. The staff were super friendly, down to the engineer at work. Kelley and Dale were fantastic and very polite. Kelly had also dropped me off at my place , whilst the work was going on. My car is running fine now. I was very skeptical abt garages ripping customers off, but I think I've found one I can trust. If you're like me, I'd recommend this garage, as the prices are fair, and staff is friendly. I will definately opt for this garage again, for my MOT. Thanks KDP.
5 star service - after looking hard for a garage I could trust I took a gamble with KDP based on its previous reviews. I found Kellie was very informative and knew a lot about her cars, she was honest and trustworthy telling me of the work I actually didn't need instead of getting me to pay for what I didn't need and rip me off like some other garages. They picked up my car in the morning and whilst at the garage informed me I had a snapped spring and worn out bushes which they changed on top of the agreed work on the day. kept me informed all the way through, id definitely recommend this garage and will be coming back here every time if there's any problems with my car. Car now drives smoothly
Job completed fine
Great, friendly garage, very reasonably priced, they even came and picked the car up from my house because the battery was dead, and gave me advice for another car! Will definitely be using again.
I have used the garage now on a number of occasions for both service and MOT. I have been very happy with the service received and the honesty of those at the garage. They are a credit to their trade and I will continue to use them moving forward.
Fitted me in very quickly for an MOT and full service on the same day! Very helpful and user friendly service
Fantastic garage and very pleasant experience. Very please with the work and very competitive pricing. Thank you!
Although they did not repair my car these guys were very helpful.i found out it was an exhaust fault that I had had repaired not long before and was still on warranty.great friendly lads
Fast and friendly service. Kept exactly to the quiite given. Car had new clutch and flywheel fitted in a day.

Price increased for addition of full service and MOT . Excellent service with good communication and no unexpected extras. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic and honest garage great customer services, which is quite hard to find now a days. I thought my car needed new pads and sensor due to a warning light that was on,I booked the car in and was called by the garage to say the pads were fine it just needed a sensor. Fantastic trustworthy garage will definitely be using this garage again and will be advising family and friends to do the same. Well done Parkside garage thank you.
Great service provided. Picked my car up from work the next day and delivered back with in an hour. Brilliant price. Highly recommended
I thought that I had a problem with a noisy timing chain on my Corsa diesel van. James said that I should not drive the van to the garage in case it were to break and cause serious damage to the engine. He arranged for a recovery truck to collect it. This cost me £50 which I thought was very reasonable and the service was quick and the driver rang me to say that the van had been delivered to the garage. James called me shortly afterwards and said that it was in fact the water pump that had a noisy bearing and that he would recommend replacing that along with the auxiliary belt and that the timing chain was OK. He said that this would be about half the price of a replacement timing chain. He fixed it that day and I picked it up the following morning. He kept me informed and I was very pleased with the service and the price. It cost me £223 including the £50 for the recovery. Thank you very much.
First class service and first class workmanship from James, from initial phone call to completing the work on my car. His knowledge and expertise was second to none, readily explained everything and gave his honest opinion and the options available for the repair.. fair price as well for all the work he completing and in a day
Did a real good job and very quick would recommend
Absolutely first class service from start to finish. All at Parkside were a pleasure to deal with and explained things clearly. Much much better than my local VW dealership. Thanks for the great service.
I had the rear discs and pads replaced for 135 as quoted and then I asked for the front pads replacing which was 60. Very friendly fast and a great service. I will be using this garage again.
Very friendly, good quality garage and fair price.Well recommended.

A brake, or brake pad is a system that safely enables a car to stop. Brakes get rid of the kinetic energy that helps the car move, which is done by using force of friction to convert this motion of energy into heat. Your car's braking system is made up of the following components: Brake discs, which spin with your car's wheels, Brake Pads, which push on the discs to slow the car, Brake Calipers which hold, and push, the pads, Brake Lines (or 'Hoses') which carry Brake Fluid, and your Brake Master Cylinder and Servo, which work to amplify the effort you use when pushing the brake pedal. Wear or failure of any one of these components will cause braking problems, requiring repair.
Modern cars have brakes on all four wheels which are operated by a hydraulic system and are made up of several components all of which are subject to stress which could result in breakage.
The front brakes in a car are typically the ones which play the greater part in bringing a car to stop as the weight of the car is thrown forward every time the vehicle comes to a stop.
There are different systems used for braking from one car to the next which suits the needs of the vehicle size and function.
The common hydraulic system uses fluid to apply pressure to pistons in the car close to its wheels to bring the car to a halt.
Some cars also have power brake assistance which helps to reduce the amount of effort required to apply stopping power.
If you need to have your brakes repaired there are several issues that could have caused the problem and several things that could be affected.
If you suspect you need your brakes repaired but your car is still drivable, there are some symptoms which could give you clues as to what the problem is.
The brakes are often the noisiest part of a car if there is an issue which means you should be able to hear a problem which cannot be said of many other broken car parts. Therefore, noticing the need for a car brake repair should be obvious. But you can check faulty brake symptoms here.
Brake pads are a critical component of a car and a vehicle cannot come to a halt without them functioning properly. Brake pads are fitted to the brake calipers which push the pads into the brake discs which are fitted to a car wheel. When a car is moving, the pads grip the discs to slow down the wheel and thus slow the car down.
A high amount of heat energy is created from the resulting friction as explained above and over time, this will wear brake pads down.
Brake pad replacement is a common job, the work to remove a worn-down-set is not complex so if you require a brake pad replacement, the repair will not be a lengthy one.
If you would like to understand how to tell when your brakes need servicing read our dedicated guide.
Brake discs are fitted to the car wheel itself and they are gripped by the brake pads.
Brake discs replacement is more expensive; the parts are more expensive than pads. Often pads are placed at the same time the discs are replaced.
If a mechanic advises you to replace your brake discs, they will likely suggest replacing the pads at the same time due to a the low cost of the part and the little extra labour time needed.
The cost of brake pad replacement may vary depending on the car make and model. This is because there are different sizes of brake pads and the cost increases as they get bigger. For example, a Land Rover will require a bigger set of brake pads as opposed to a Fiat Punto.

If you specifically require brake disc replacement, the work will take a similar amount of time to a brake pad replacement.
However, as highlighted above, the cost will be more expensive that pads due to the parts pricing.
Brake pads are changed by removing the wheel and unscrewing the bolts which hold the part in place. The part is then simply taken off the brake caliper and a new brake pad is fitted. The same process will be applied for each of the pads that need to be replaced.
There are many other common issues which can arise with the braking system which are not connected to brake pads and discs issues. The brake lines are susceptible to leakage as brake fluid can leak from the system if rust is untreated. The master cylinder is also a part of the braking system which can become faulty.
