Great bunch of guys, got me in straight away. Went in for front and rear pads on my Audi A6 Avant S-Line Estate was advised the rear disks needed doing and showed me the brake pad. If I had of gone to the dealers I'd be selling a kidney just to get the work done. Was also informed both front tyres needed replacing. Thank you gents will definitely coming back again.
Great staff, great service, very fair price
Went to this garage today. What a gem. Honest Polite, Professional. checked all my brakes, showed me the pads which were all o.k. after been told by Peugeot they were all worn. what a change to have a honest garage. would recommend to everyone Thank-you all at Express Tyre &AUTO CENTRE
Can't fault these guys.... friendly, quick, professional service
excellent service, very happy with the job.2days start to finish .highly recommend ROBERT.HUDDERSFIELD.
Fabulous! I will definitely go back. My usual garage quoted me £700 but this guys did it for £450! Gave me curtesy car as well! Great job ! Explained everything as well. I paid £47 extra as needed new water pump. I can’t fault the service
I highly recommend this garage, as they saved me time and money, after I bought a used car, about a month ago. Garage had a competitive price to start out with. In the process of repairing the alternator first (labour only), they noticed, that the sub frame has substantial rust issues and front O/S coil spring had snapped. So they contacted me to ask, I still wanted to follow through with the timing belt/water pump change. Timing belt was inspected and given a decent rest life in their opinion, so I gave it a pass. They did Oil+filter, both air filters, fuel filter, replaced the already bought alternator, replaced washer pump and all for £231. Essentially from the original price including water pump, timing belt change and automatic oil and filter change, they saved me around £450 by telling me about the faults underneath the car.
Great job Nat, many thanks!
Great garage, very helpful and very fair prices. Will be using them again for sure.
Quick, friendly, efficient and put my mind at ease regarding my engine management light, will definitely use them again. £40 for diagnostic test and tank cleaner, would have been a minimum of £105 just for the test at a dealership. Highly recommend.
Guys here did my MOT not the outcome I was hoping for but I'm taking it back to have the work done. Only thing I would say is. You need tea facilities too not everyone likes coffee
This garage was the cheapest quote for a oil change and accepted the quote, had the work done today 24th August 2018 and deffinetly 5 star garage and experience. Lovely clean waiting room which was spacious and plenty of seats with FREE hot drinks! Also really good to find toilets and baby changing facilities for my children, I will be deffinetly going back to this garage for future work/MOT
Would definitely go back again! Great job done.
Very happy with service provided, will definitely use again.
Would definitely recommend and will be using in the future!
Great service thank you
Good price and everything that was required was done although a small issue with timing. Arranged to drop car off at 8.30am but no one arrived until 8.50.
If I could put 10 stars I would.

Excellent service. Just as promised. Even recorded a video showing the merhod. Highly recommended.
Great service. Thanks
Brilliant from start to finish really friendly and approachable First class job thanks to all
Excellent quick service and provided with a courtesy car. Price paid was that quoted, additional work (which was anticipated) carried out at an obvious extra cost but notified of this before anything was commenced. Shown issues with brake discs upon my arrival to collect the car and a full explanation given. Saved £100s on the dealer quote to carry out the work and were able to update the digital log book within the BMW in car computer. Vehicle was ready and waiting for the time agreed for collection.
Absolutely first class service from start to finish. All at Parkside were a pleasure to deal with and explained things clearly. Much much better than my local VW dealership. Thanks for the great service.
I had the rear discs and pads replaced for 135 as quoted and then I asked for the front pads replacing which was 60. Very friendly fast and a great service. I will be using this garage again.
Very friendly, good quality garage and fair price.Well recommended.
Rang back but had already accepted another quate very nice and friendly

A brake, or brake pad is a system that safely enables a car to stop. Brakes get rid of the kinetic energy that helps the car move, which is done by using force of friction to convert this motion of energy into heat. Your car's braking system is made up of the following components: Brake discs, which spin with your car's wheels, Brake Pads, which push on the discs to slow the car, Brake Calipers which hold, and push, the pads, Brake Lines (or 'Hoses') which carry Brake Fluid, and your Brake Master Cylinder and Servo, which work to amplify the effort you use when pushing the brake pedal. Wear or failure of any one of these components will cause braking problems, requiring repair.
Modern cars have brakes on all four wheels which are operated by a hydraulic system and are made up of several components all of which are subject to stress which could result in breakage.
The front brakes in a car are typically the ones which play the greater part in bringing a car to stop as the weight of the car is thrown forward every time the vehicle comes to a stop.
There are different systems used for braking from one car to the next which suits the needs of the vehicle size and function.
The common hydraulic system uses fluid to apply pressure to pistons in the car close to its wheels to bring the car to a halt.
Some cars also have power brake assistance which helps to reduce the amount of effort required to apply stopping power.
If you need to have your brakes repaired there are several issues that could have caused the problem and several things that could be affected.
If you suspect you need your brakes repaired but your car is still drivable, there are some symptoms which could give you clues as to what the problem is.
The brakes are often the noisiest part of a car if there is an issue which means you should be able to hear a problem which cannot be said of many other broken car parts. Therefore, noticing the need for a car brake repair should be obvious. But you can check faulty brake symptoms here.
Brake pads are a critical component of a car and a vehicle cannot come to a halt without them functioning properly. Brake pads are fitted to the brake calipers which push the pads into the brake discs which are fitted to a car wheel. When a car is moving, the pads grip the discs to slow down the wheel and thus slow the car down.
A high amount of heat energy is created from the resulting friction as explained above and over time, this will wear brake pads down.
Brake pad replacement is a common job, the work to remove a worn-down-set is not complex so if you require a brake pad replacement, the repair will not be a lengthy one.
If you would like to understand how to tell when your brakes need servicing read our dedicated guide.
Brake discs are fitted to the car wheel itself and they are gripped by the brake pads.
Brake discs replacement is more expensive; the parts are more expensive than pads. Often pads are placed at the same time the discs are replaced.
If a mechanic advises you to replace your brake discs, they will likely suggest replacing the pads at the same time due to a the low cost of the part and the little extra labour time needed.
The cost of brake pad replacement may vary depending on the car make and model. This is because there are different sizes of brake pads and the cost increases as they get bigger. For example, a Land Rover will require a bigger set of brake pads as opposed to a Fiat Punto.
We have written a brake price comparison guide if you want to learn more.
If you want a good brake pad deal, you can compare quotes from garages near you by entering you details at the top of the page.
If you specifically require brake disc replacement, the work will take a similar amount of time to a brake pad replacement.
However, as highlighted above, the cost will be more expensive that pads due to the parts pricing.
Brake pads are changed by removing the wheel and unscrewing the bolts which hold the part in place. The part is then simply taken off the brake caliper and a new brake pad is fitted. The same process will be applied for each of the pads that need to be replaced.
There are many other common issues which can arise with the braking system which are not connected to brake pads and discs issues. The brake lines are susceptible to leakage as brake fluid can leak from the system if rust is untreated. The master cylinder is also a part of the braking system which can become faulty. There are several obvious signs that your brake pads and discs are not operating properly. If your car is taking much longer to come to a stop, it will be clear that there is a problem with your brakes.
