Great service, were flexible with appointment time but then were able to start almost immediately when I arrived. Was finished exactly at the time they said and I was able to go to Aldi whilst it was done! Very friendly, would use again.
Very good and quick job!! Will use it again.
Very happy with this garage and would recommend. Excellent communication from start to finish and more importantly they fixed the problem. Will use again
Friendly and helpful job done while l waited with a cup of coffee good service at a good price l will definitely be using them again
Can’t fault this garage. Great value for money and friendly. I’ll definitely use them again. Thanks Chris
Can't thank the guys enough, didn't rip me off, took me the local Costa so I could have a coffee while work being done on my car, offered to bring me back but was happy to take a very slow walk. They showed me my old discs and pads and just how dangerous they had become. Will definitely use the guys again as very rare to get good old fashion service at a great price. Thanks guys will recommend you to my friends. See you in a few weeks for my mot.
Great service and good price.
Seem to have done a good job. Car is working fine. Price was loads better than other quotes, so pleased about that. I'd happily go there again. Only thing I'd ask would be to note in service history the date of cam belt change and mileage.
Great service !!
They spent about 1.5 hours trying to locate an electrical fault and were able to give me a number of possibilities, but the diagnostics required to confirm are only available at a main dealer. Given they quoted £70 for the diagnostic, but only charged me just over £12 I can't complain.
Very happy with the service, have taken my other car in for the garage to look at.
Great service, took my car at the last Minute and did a full service. Only niggle would be they didn't reset my service light until I asked them too ! . Was told that as the MOT wasn't done there it couldn't be , even tho going through my paperwork it was. All sorted in the end so really happy.
Took car in was straight inside and done very quickly now the air conditioning is ice cold superb service many thanks
Cam chain checked and did not need replacing. Price increased as new breaks, tyres and aircon done. Not a problem as needed doing. Greg is very helpful and always keeps you informed of any other issues he finds. Courtesy car provided free of charge as live 10 miles away from garage. Can't fault garage/Greg at all. Had engine flush as service was not up to date, still noisy however again not fault of garage. Previous owner had car parked up for apparently 2 to 3 years.
I've not used this. However, their communication is very prompt. I look forward to see them soon.
Really good job, would recommend!
Paul is very kind and did a great job replacing all the break discs and pads. Highly recommended!
Absolutely fantastic service from the team, quick, clean and good value.
Excellent service. Would recommend anyone to use them. Got my car back in 2 days after having clutch and flywheel done. Some other garages had quoted double the price that PCS charged me. It’s a family run business that you can trust and I certainly will be going back for any other jobs to be done. Thank you all.
I am very pleased with the service received from PSC Mobile Vehicle Repairs. I booked in for a clutch replacement and chose PSC off the back of the other glowing reviews (that and the fact I was quoted almost double the price elsewhere) and I am very glad I am happy to say I made the right choice. Friendly and reliable people with honest pricing - you can really tell Paul knows his stuff. Being a failed clutch I was unable to drive my car so PSC came and collected the car on Thursday, carried out the work as agreed and returned the car back to me on Friday, literally a door to door service that made the whole process stress and hassle free! The price paid was exactly as was quoted and the communication throughout with both Amanda and Paul was absolutely spot on. Will not hesitate to use you again and will gladly recommend to others. Keep up the great work!
Fantastic service, found another fault with my car on top of the clutch replacement and fixed that also at a very good price. Car is working better than ever, definitely using again.
Very friendly, sorted quickly, satisfied with service, honest service! Thank you.
A top garage, quick response and personalized messages as well as top service and a decent price, having used this garage twice I will not hesitate to come back if I have any work needed completing on my car in the future
Honest,Friendly,Helpful and quality workmanship. Would highly recommend. A real pleasure to do business with.
Really lovely garage and honest friendly owners. They explained exactly what needed doing and how much it would be, will be recommending to everyone, thanks so much again

A brake, or brake pad is a system that safely enables a car to stop. Brakes get rid of the kinetic energy that helps the car move, which is done by using force of friction to convert this motion of energy into heat. Your car's braking system is made up of the following components: Brake discs, which spin with your car's wheels, Brake Pads, which push on the discs to slow the car, Brake Calipers which hold, and push, the pads, Brake Lines (or 'Hoses') which carry Brake Fluid, and your Brake Master Cylinder and Servo, which work to amplify the effort you use when pushing the brake pedal. Wear or failure of any one of these components will cause braking problems, requiring repair.
Modern cars have brakes on all four wheels which are operated by a hydraulic system and are made up of several components all of which are subject to stress which could result in breakage.
The front brakes in a car are typically the ones which play the greater part in bringing a car to stop as the weight of the car is thrown forward every time the vehicle comes to a stop.
There are different systems used for braking from one car to the next which suits the needs of the vehicle size and function.
The common hydraulic system uses fluid to apply pressure to pistons in the car close to its wheels to bring the car to a halt.
Some cars also have power brake assistance which helps to reduce the amount of effort required to apply stopping power.
If you need to have your brakes repaired there are several issues that could have caused the problem and several things that could be affected.
If you suspect you need your brakes repaired but your car is still drivable, there are some symptoms which could give you clues as to what the problem is.
The brakes are often the noisiest part of a car if there is an issue which means you should be able to hear a problem which cannot be said of many other broken car parts. Therefore, noticing the need for a car brake repair should be obvious. But you can check faulty brake symptoms here.
Brake pads are a critical component of a car and a vehicle cannot come to a halt without them functioning properly. Brake pads are fitted to the brake calipers which push the pads into the brake discs which are fitted to a car wheel. When a car is moving, the pads grip the discs to slow down the wheel and thus slow the car down.
A high amount of heat energy is created from the resulting friction as explained above and over time, this will wear brake pads down.
Brake pad replacement is a common job, the work to remove a worn-down-set is not complex so if you require a brake pad replacement, the repair will not be a lengthy one.
If you would like to understand how to tell when your brakes need servicing read our dedicated guide.
Brake discs are fitted to the car wheel itself and they are gripped by the brake pads.
Brake discs replacement is more expensive; the parts are more expensive than pads. Often pads are placed at the same time the discs are replaced.
If a mechanic advises you to replace your brake discs, they will likely suggest replacing the pads at the same time due to a the low cost of the part and the little extra labour time needed.
The cost of brake pad replacement may vary depending on the car make and model. This is because there are different sizes of brake pads and the cost increases as they get bigger. For example, a Land Rover will require a bigger set of brake pads as opposed to a Fiat Punto.

If you specifically require brake disc replacement, the work will take a similar amount of time to a brake pad replacement.
However, as highlighted above, the cost will be more expensive that pads due to the parts pricing.
Brake pads are changed by removing the wheel and unscrewing the bolts which hold the part in place. The part is then simply taken off the brake caliper and a new brake pad is fitted. The same process will be applied for each of the pads that need to be replaced.
There are many other common issues which can arise with the braking system which are not connected to brake pads and discs issues. The brake lines are susceptible to leakage as brake fluid can leak from the system if rust is untreated. The master cylinder is also a part of the braking system which can become faulty.
