Friendly service. Did the diagnostics in front of me, then made sure to send the report at the time. He went through the report with me too. Great service.
Great service, picked up and dropped off my car. Even brought a card machine to my door which made payment really easy.
Great service Loveky guy Highly recommended
I would recommend Robin’s garage 100%. Very quick to respond, very easy to deal with (very quick to answer/respond to calls), very rapid and thorough in the work (sourced necessary parts and got work done in no time at all) - all in all, an unambiguous recommendation.
Most reasonable quote were able to book me in when I wanted got the job done quickly and it did fix my aircon which never worked and staff were very friendly which is always nice.
Excellent service , air con regas , friendly staff and reasonable price , recommended
These guys are great I had no problems at all would definitely recommend
Awesome customer service. Did work on my car when other garages in the area refused. I supplied the parts and they happily fitted them no questions asked. Most garages now days won't install parts that are supplied by the customer. They would rather put a mark up on cheap parts and add heavy labour charges. These guys are awesome and I will be back. Highly recommend!!
The ONLY garage to come back and provide a quotation for my problem! However, despite the garage being located about 15 miles from home, I was glad to have discovered them. They are currently located on a little-known industrial estate near Storrington, but are worth seeking out. Neil, who runs the office, is a charming chap who made every effort to make me feel comfortable (they have a good espresso machine!) and was very reassuring. A courtesy car was provided for me as they couldn't get hold of the part required ( a throttle management system) on the Friday, but my car was fixed by Monday. Given the cost of the part needed, and the labour required, the final price was perfectly reasonable. Overall, the service was friendly, professional and good value and I am happy to recommend Alpha with no reservations.
The garage was excellent - good service and communication and £100 less than Brighton garages. They also discovered a problem not picked up by garage in Brighton when it was serviced, again a fair price. I will go again!
Really impressed with Alpha Automobiles. They fitted sports discs and pads - and beat the local main dealer price by a whopping £250.00! We definitely use this garage again. Highly recommended.
Made an error by only quoting for brakes, but was kept fully informed at all stages of the job. Very welcoming at arrival.
I needed a new starter motor on my Astra mk5, after the original one had gone bad. 13 years of operation is something... While I had done my own little investigation and diagnostic before asking for any help, the engineer also did a diagnostics check and confirmed it was indeed the starter motor, before starting the replacement job. The job was very quick, even though he was provided the wrong motor and had to go get the correct one. He was back in 20 minutes. As for the engineer, he was very polite and professional. While he was working on the car, we also chatted a lot, so that's a plus. I would recommend A Star Garage to anyone. Their competitive prices would make a good recommendation by themselves. 5/5 from a very satisfied customer. Thanks again for the quick help.
I found this service excellent. He was very professional and communicated very well. He was clear from the start and contacted me readily with any queries. I was sent a whatsapp video of the work once it was done. Very professional service and much cheaper than other quotes I was offered. Would highly recommend.
40 for labour, 50 for part, came in no time at all - really nice bloke and we will definitely use him again!!!
Very helpful, prompt and convenient repair at the roadside
Good job. Good price. Good bloke. Shall be using this garage in future.
Gave me good information on work progress and finished the repair at the stated price.
I strongly recommended this place. Very reasonable prices and extremely competent technicians.
These guys were very helpful. Had a Cataliyc converter fitted and done a great job, I would highly recommend

Fitted in the next day, Dropped off at 9am picked up at 2pm. Fantastic Service, Very happy!
Robin arrived on time, got to work straight away, he did not try to add any extras, so I paid exactly what he quoted me, he also advised me to get a new tyre, but did not try to badger me with me buying from me. I would recommend Robin to anyone.
Great bunch of guys, really friendly and helpful. Brake discs and pads changed in 3hrs, quicker than I expected. Also advised me to get a new tyre, which I did so cost in total u dear £145. Going back to get another tyre done ready for the English weather! Will definitely be using again and I have already recommended them to friends and family!
the cat was collected and the discs and brakes were replaced. Excellent service.
Fast,, friendly and polite service, l would highly recommend this garage.
A brake, or brake pad is a system that safely enables a car to stop. Brakes get rid of the kinetic energy that helps the car move, which is done by using force of friction to convert this motion of energy into heat. Your car's braking system is made up of the following components: Brake discs, which spin with your car's wheels, Brake Pads, which push on the discs to slow the car, Brake Calipers which hold, and push, the pads, Brake Lines (or 'Hoses') which carry Brake Fluid, and your Brake Master Cylinder and Servo, which work to amplify the effort you use when pushing the brake pedal. Wear or failure of any one of these components will cause braking problems, requiring repair.
Modern cars have brakes on all four wheels which are operated by a hydraulic system and are made up of several components all of which are subject to stress which could result in breakage.
The front brakes in a car are typically the ones which play the greater part in bringing a car to stop as the weight of the car is thrown forward every time the vehicle comes to a stop.
There are different systems used for braking from one car to the next which suits the needs of the vehicle size and function.
The common hydraulic system uses fluid to apply pressure to pistons in the car close to its wheels to bring the car to a halt.
Some cars also have power brake assistance which helps to reduce the amount of effort required to apply stopping power.
If you need to have your brakes repaired there are several issues that could have caused the problem and several things that could be affected.
If you suspect you need your brakes repaired but your car is still drivable, there are some symptoms which could give you clues as to what the problem is.
The brakes are often the noisiest part of a car if there is an issue which means you should be able to hear a problem which cannot be said of many other broken car parts. Therefore, noticing the need for a car brake repair should be obvious. But you can check faulty brake symptoms here.
Brake pads are a critical component of a car and a vehicle cannot come to a halt without them functioning properly. Brake pads are fitted to the brake calipers which push the pads into the brake discs which are fitted to a car wheel. When a car is moving, the pads grip the discs to slow down the wheel and thus slow the car down.
A high amount of heat energy is created from the resulting friction as explained above and over time, this will wear brake pads down.
Brake pad replacement is a common job, the work to remove a worn-down-set is not complex so if you require a brake pad replacement, the repair will not be a lengthy one.
If you would like to understand how to tell when your brakes need servicing read our dedicated guide.
Brake discs are fitted to the car wheel itself and they are gripped by the brake pads.
Brake discs replacement is more expensive; the parts are more expensive than pads. Often pads are placed at the same time the discs are replaced.
If a mechanic advises you to replace your brake discs, they will likely suggest replacing the pads at the same time due to a the low cost of the part and the little extra labour time needed.
The cost of brake pad replacement may vary depending on the car make and model. This is because there are different sizes of brake pads and the cost increases as they get bigger. For example, a Land Rover will require a bigger set of brake pads as opposed to a Fiat Punto.

If you specifically require brake disc replacement, the work will take a similar amount of time to a brake pad replacement.
However, as highlighted above, the cost will be more expensive that pads due to the parts pricing.
Brake pads are changed by removing the wheel and unscrewing the bolts which hold the part in place. The part is then simply taken off the brake caliper and a new brake pad is fitted. The same process will be applied for each of the pads that need to be replaced.
There are many other common issues which can arise with the braking system which are not connected to brake pads and discs issues. The brake lines are susceptible to leakage as brake fluid can leak from the system if rust is untreated. The master cylinder is also a part of the braking system which can become faulty.
