Over the years, Citroen has come up with more than a few quirky ideas. The second car it produced, the 1922 Type C 5HP, became known as the ‘petit citron' (little lemon) because of its small size and the yellow paint colour you could order it in. Citroen's latest iteration of the Picasso is much better looking than the earliest models, meeting the brief of any good MPV with flair thanks to its versatility and spaciousness (some reviewers have gone as far as to call the roomy cabin tardis-like). 2023 reliability data from WhatCar? puts Citroen in 14th place out of 32 car manufacturers, and this below-average score is reflected by the numerous common problems experienced by the Picasso, including oil leaks, faulty starter motors and worn suspension. Nevertheless, at the 2018 Auto Express Used Car Awards, it earned the title of 'Best Used MPV', with judges highlighting its outstanding comfort.
A car MOT is an annual inspection that ensures your vehicle meets acceptable safety and environmental standards. It is a legal requirement to book an MOT test every twelve months unless your car is under three years old.
An MOT consists of dozens of tests, including an emissions test, but it doesn't cover the condition of the clutch, engine or gearbox. The three most common reasons for and MOT failure are lighting/signalling, suspension and brakes.
