Over the years, Citroen has come up with more than a few quirky ideas. The second car it produced, the 1922 Type C 5HP, became known as the ‘petit citron' (little lemon) because of its small size and the yellow paint colour you could order it in. Citroen's latest iteration of the Picasso is much better looking than the earliest models, meeting the brief of any good MPV with flair thanks to its versatility and spaciousness (some reviewers have gone as far as to call the roomy cabin tardis-like). 2023 reliability data from WhatCar? puts Citroen in 14th place out of 32 car manufacturers, and this below-average score is reflected by the numerous common problems experienced by the Picasso, including oil leaks, faulty starter motors and worn suspension. Nevertheless, at the 2018 Auto Express Used Car Awards, it earned the title of 'Best Used MPV', with judges highlighting its outstanding comfort.
When you start your car, the starter motor turns the engine over, allowing it to draw in air. It is powered by the car's battery and consists of a solenoid and a powerful direct-current electric motor.
