Great service, very knowledgeable- highly recommend!
Helpful team at garage and work carried out efficiently.
Great service, honest communication and competitive price. Well done to Svmcitt and the team. However, the final cost was £559 versus a quote of 362 by Whocanfixmycar. Issue is that there are a number of disc sizes and the quote default provides a smaller size than those in my car. Given the differential in price there has to be a more accurate method of estimation so that the customer can select the right garage and be aware of a more realistic cost. There is no issue with D&G as they worked hard to minimise the cost. Whocanfixmycar need to put in place a better system to help the customer. Over to you whocanfixmycar.
The price and service was very good.
Went in for MOT. Told me that there was a fault and therefore would fail. Did a diagnostic check for free and recommended places to fix electrical faults. Friendly place.
Fantastic, efficient, speedy and genuinely 'female friendly' service. Craig is super helpful, highly recommend!
Did what it said on the tin - no fuss no bother albeit took slightly longer than expected
Turned around quickly and kept in touch throughout. Would recommend.
I would highly recommend them. Craig was very friendly and helpful, answering all my questions with no problem before I went to get the work done. Very fair price and quickly done. I will be back for my next service
Put my car in for a service cost about 135 got a call later on as the garage checked my brake pads to my shock they where well worn Pat and Craig done both my front and rear pads any longer and the discs would be ruined full service all done and dusted at 270 cheers kept me informed at all times
Great garange, shame it is gone now
Done quickly and to budget
Work carried out on time and charged what they quoted.
Although I was advised prior to booking that the cost was different from quote received it still cost extra. Overall experience though was very good. Service completed on time and car was washed and vacuumed.
All done as it should.
Good service and work done to my satisfaction with fair price.
Great service as usual
Excellent service. Flexible time to drop off and pick up car.
Dealt with the MOT and service like professionals and talked me through what the car was needing work on after having been unfortunately neglected by me. Any issues that popped up after they were happy to have a look at for no additional charge!
Excellent friendly service. Stuart very helpful. Would definitely recommend this garage and would use it again.
Good service, honoured the quote on this website, would use again.
Staff were very friendly + helpful, couldn’t fault them will definitely use them again and I will most definitely recommend them.
Did what they said they would do and ready when I requested it
fantastic service.and polit stuff.paid 430 inculding changing brake pad and gearbox and olso replacment of cluth
Absolutely amazing garage that I cannot recommend highly enough. Not only were they the cheapest but also the quickest. Had my van in the day after I phoned and fixed. Garage kept me updated throughout the day and even sent pictures of the parts so I could see exactly what had been replaced. Very honest hard working reasonably priced garage, and there's a sentence you can't put together very often. Will Deffo use again and recommend to all my friends and family.
Really friendly bunch of guys showed me all parts replaced will definitely be back
The owner was very polite and helpful throughout the whole process. I was kept upto date with all works being carried out and advised on the most cost effective way to have my vehicle back on the road. I needed my clutch replaced and the garage found my gearbox oil needed changed, this was cheap enough, also my coolant was leaking and I was advised the cheapest way to fix it. This garage won't charge you extra and add on unexpected faults and costs to make you pay more either, honest and reliable. I couldn't find a cheaper garage in Edinburgh or Fife, secure car parking overnight at the garage. Sometimes the garage is very busy because of its good prices and reputation, you may want your car back same day or next day and this is usually the case, you will receive the best prices in Fife and a great service. Highly recommended. Thank you R & B Auto repairs and Sales team.

Clutch replacement is one of the most common repairs carried out by mechanics in the UK as the nature of the part means it will naturally degrade over time, regardless of how much care you take or precautions you put in place.
The rate of degradation will alter from car model to car model as each are designed differently with some cars having significantly superior parts.
However, the way somebody drives a car is a huge factor in how a clutch performs. We will go onto this in more detail further down the guide and will demonstrate what you should be doing to elongate the lifespan of your clutch.
The Clutch is the part of your car engine which is responsible for engaging and disengaging the power transmission.
It’s a vital part of an engine and is essentially there to connect two parts of the system that can’t make a car move unless they're connected. Clutches engage and disengage two rotating shafts which then allow your car to move.
When you press the clutch down and move your car into gear, you are connecting the two shafts and transitioning from one gear to the next.
Its an essential function which allows a car to move through gears effectively and efficiently.
Automatic cars have an in-built clutch which takes over the control of this interchange, this means that the car itself decides what gear you should be in depending on the driving conditions regardless of the driver.
There are a variety of signs to look out for when it comes to an underperforming clutch as the performance of your car will be noticeably effected as well as your ability to change gears.
Here are the most common issues which will be caused by a damaged clutch.
Slipping is one of the most common clutch issues and can cause a drop in performance, as well as damage, if not diagnosed in time.
The things you need to watch out for are;
The problem with a slipping clutch is that it will only get worse as time goes on. Slippage increases the heat generated in between the two shafts and the hotter this area becomes the less able it is to maintain its grip, therefore increasing the slippage. The greater the slippage the greater the heat generated.
So it’s clear to see that this is an issue that will only get worse if left without attention.
Chattering occurs when the clutch is being used and a grabbing or jerking can be felt in the vehicle.
This problem is caused by the following internal clutch issues;
If you are hearing strange noises like growls or squeals, this can be another sign of a problem with a clutch, as vibrations within the part would cause such sounds.
If you hear any strange noises coming from your car, have it looked at immediately as a fault with your clutch could cause serious danger while you are driving.
Replacing a clutch can take as little as a few hours or as longs as a few days depending on the car and garage.
Many cars will have easy access to the clutch and so replacing the part will be straightforward however others will be more complex and will need other parts removing before the mechanic can get to the clutch.
Once more, a new clutch will cost different amounts depending on the car. You could be paying £250 or £600 from car to car or garage to garage, that is why it is so important to get a range of quotes from garages in your local area.
Fortunately replacing a clutch is one of the most common repair jobs carried out by mechanics in the UK which means you will be able to find a range of quotes from garages in your local area as it will be a job they are all well practiced in completing.
