Great service and great customer service, will be visiting again!
Great and friendly staff, very pleased with work, ill be back to them, guys thanks
They got the work done for the price quoted. They provided good advice about whether to spend money on another issue or wait until failure, and the service was friendly. The only thing they could have done better was to tell me when my car had been seen to, but I did tell them I didn't need the car in any rush.
It was the first time I've used a local garage other than the Cooper Mini Reading (who are useless), and happy to say that they were great. Car collection and returned all fine along with friendly and courteous service :) Will use again. Thanks!
Friendly guys and very helpful. Kindly checked my car gearbox for free of charge.
Took a look at the radiator after overheating for free. No problems since. Good service.
Really friendly and quick. No surprises
Excellent communication and work - done quickly and with a fair price, would hope to use again. Friendly and communicative customers
Was able to fit me in on the day when I realised my brakes had gone, everyone I had spoken with were lovely. Thank you for sorting my piece of crap out!
Fantastic service arrived when promised attempted to fix without trying to add any extra costs, arranged a new battery, collected and fitted without adding any extra costs. Would absolutely recommend to anybody.
Professional, Courteous, On time and delivered as per quote. Will happily use ASJ Mobile Mechanic again !
Jay was prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. The work was done quickly and the car now drives as it used to with no "shimmy" on braking.
Replaced both front and back pads. Good comms and did a good job.
Excellent value for money, good communication and arrived on time. Highly recommended. Ford KA front brake pads.
Excellent service, free pick up and delivery. Would use again.
Good experience. Mot and service was done at the quoted price, needed couple of rear tyres to be changed but all was done professionally and at decent price. Happy to use them in future. Thanks
Very quick and friendly service
couple of extra fixes needed on service. would use again
Very good service and price
Amazing service , top job by professional mechanic , will recommend to place I work with
Great services, picked up the car and completed the work as expected. Lots of communication throughout which was perfect - thanks guys, highly recommended.
This was the first time I'd taken my van to OnPoint, it was fast and professional and I will be a repeat customer, and recommend to others
Friendly, helpful guys who did what they said they would do, when they said they'd do it. Don't get that too often nowadays, so I will be a returning customer! Thanks
Great service, great price. Sorted everything whilst we were away on holiday including collection and delivery of car
Good Service reccomended
Excellent customer care and very professional, and they are very good at what they do.
The initial estimate implied a potential final price of parts and labour, however, the estimate was for labour only, the gas was extra. The garage are friendly and helpful and the work was carried out to my satisfaction.
Friendly guys and great service. I only went to this garage however for the price. I received a £25 quote from this site and it wasn’t specified clearly that this was just the price for the gas and not the labour. My local garage a minute walk from me was cheaper but due to time constraints I had to get this done and they done a quick and efficient job. The 341 was the total cost, they replaced my condenser because the car would not regas due to an issue.
perfect customer care, done the extra mile as car was immovable, quickly arranged a recovery truck, and despite the late start managed to do the job and delivered the car after repairs to my door at 8:30pm! would highly recommend for their customer care attitude, repairs were as planned
Brilliantly helpful. Was very quick to respond when I sent them a message on here. Had it booked within the next day. Upon arrival, greeted by a happy group of chaps, the bloke who ultimately served me was very helpful and polite, even had a bit of banter about him. Collection was just as quick and easy, no waiting around and job done easily well within the time frame given. 100% going back for any further work I need doing.
The collection/return was very useful. the work turned out to be greater than anticipated, but the the price was very competitive for the work and it was completed very quickly.
Replaced my clutch quickly, picked up my car and delivered it back. I did have to purchase a new radio code for my car because the battery was disconnected so that is the only fault I could find with this otherwise spectacular service.
The cost of servicing, MOT and repairs differ across the country and Clutch Replacement is not any different. Labour rates will be higher or lower depending on where in the country you are. Clutch replacement is one of the most common repairs carried out by mechanics in the UK as the nature of the part means it will naturally degrade over time, regardless of how much care you take or precautions you put in place.
The rate of degradation will alter from car model to car model as each are designed differently with some cars having significantly superior parts.
However, the way somebody drives a car is a huge factor in how a clutch performs. We will go onto this in more detail further down the guide and will demonstrate what you should be doing to elongate the lifespan of your clutch.
The Clutch is the part of your car engine which is responsible for engaging and disengaging the power transmission.
It’s a vital part of an engine and is essentially there to connect two parts of the system that can’t make a car move unless they're connected. Clutches engage and disengage two rotating shafts which then allow your car to move.
When you press the clutch down and move your car into gear, you are connecting the two shafts and transitioning from one gear to the next.
Its an essential function which allows a car to move through gears effectively and efficiently.
Automatic cars have an in-built clutch which takes over the control of this interchange, this means that the car itself decides what gear you should be in depending on the driving conditions regardless of the driver.
There are a variety of signs to look out for when it comes to an underperforming clutch as the performance of your car will be noticeably effected as well as your ability to change gears.
Here are the most common issues which will be caused by a damaged clutch.
Slipping is one of the most common clutch issues and can cause a drop in performance, as well as damage, if not diagnosed in time.
The things you need to watch out for are;
The problem with a slipping clutch is that it will only get worse as time goes on. Slippage increases the heat generated in between the two shafts and the hotter this area becomes the less able it is to maintain its grip, therefore increasing the slippage. The greater the slippage the greater the heat generated.
So it’s clear to see that this is an issue that will only get worse if left without attention.
Chattering occurs when the clutch is being used and a grabbing or jerking can be felt in the vehicle.
This problem is caused by the following internal clutch issues;
If you are hearing strange noises like growls or squeals, this can be another sign of a problem with a clutch, as vibrations within the part would cause such sounds.
If you hear any strange noises coming from your car, have it looked at immediately as a fault with your clutch could cause serious danger while you are driving.
Replacing a clutch can take as little as a few hours or as longs as a few days depending on the car and garage.
Many cars will have easy access to the clutch and so replacing the part will be straightforward however others will be more complex and will need other parts removing before the mechanic can get to the clutch.
Once more, a new clutch will cost different amounts depending on the car. You could be paying £250 or £600 from car to car or garage to garage, that is why it is so important to get a range of quotes from garages in your local area.
Fortunately replacing a clutch is one of the most common repair jobs carried out by mechanics in the UK which means you will be able to find a range of quotes from garages in your local area as it will be a job they are all well practiced in completing.
