The Dacia Logan MCV (Multi Convivial Vehicle) is one of the cheapest estate cars on the market, sharing many components with the Sandero supermini. Underneath, it's based on the Renault Clio, and in five-seat mode, it has a vast 573-litre boot. Impressively, Dacia came 11th out of 32 manufacturers in WhatCar?'s 2023 reliability survey. This is also a strong area for the Logan, with few known problems. However, recalls relating to the airbags and potential fuel leaks have been issued.
Cars struggle to start for many reasons, making it hard to diagnose what's wrong. A dead battery is the most common cause; if this is the case, the engine should still turn over but won't get going unless you give it a jump start or use a battery charger. Other possible explanations include a faulty starter motor, clogged fuel injectors, a faulty - rather than flat - battery, issues with the alternator, a flooded engine, a jammed ignition lock and engine intake problems.
