Jaguar was founded in 1922 when it was initially called the Swallow Sidecar Company; since then, it has become a quintessentially British car brand. In 2017, the XE gained its 60th major global award, winning the Auto Express 'Compact Executive Car of the Year' title for the third consecutive year. Depending on your chosen engine, top speeds range from 120 to 150 mph, with a respectable 0-60 time of five to seven seconds.
Regarding reliability, the XE's record is average. In WhatCar?'s 2023 reliability survey, it came 17th out of 24 vehicles. Common problems include exhaust faults and non-electrical engine issues.
