There are a number of different engine oils available to motorists and it can be confusing when trying to choose which one is right for you. There are two possible causes of a car running out of engine oil. The first is that it has naturally been used up and it simply needs topping up. However, the second cause of engine oil dropping is that there is a leak in the system. You can check this by checking under the vehicle and looking out for dripping. If the engine warning light has come on and you can see dripping, there is a strong chance that it is engine oil. If this is the case, you need to get to a garage as soon as possible and have the source of the leak plugged.

If you have an older car this is the oil for you. Some high mileage, high performance cars are better served by synthetic oil. However, this blend of oil has a unique mixture of additives and viscosity, this oil will have reduced burn off, will help seal oil leaks and will also help improve the combustion chamber sealing which in turn improves engine compression.
Conventional oil comes in many grades, based on viscosity (thickness and fluidity), with each grade being blended to suit a particular car, environment and driving style.
