While Land Rover was founded in 1978, most people don't know that the Series I Land Rover actually predates the brand by 30 years, making it the second-oldest four-wheel drive vehicle in history. Land Rover is also closely linked to the Royal Family, providing the first bespoke ‘State Review' car in 1953.

Despite starting life as a rugged, functional vehicle that could have the dirt hosed out of its interior after a tough day of off-roading, the Range Rover is now an iconic luxury SUV more suited to a life of style and comfort than farm work. With top speeds between 120 and 140 mph and a sleek interior, it isn't hard to see why it was named 'Best Luxury Car' by Auto Express in 2022. As with all Land Rover models, reliability is the Range Rover's Achilles' heel. It suffers from various issues with the engine, air suspension, electrics, sat-nav, gearbox and bodywork.
