There are a number of different engine oils available to motorists and it can be confusing when trying to choose which one is right for you. There are two possible causes of a car running out of engine oil. The first is that it has naturally been used up and it simply needs topping up. If this is he case you car will need to be topped up as soon as possible as key components will be generating dangerous amounts of heat and friction, however, the engine oil light will come on while there is still enough engine oil in the system to see you through to your next top up. However, the second cause of engine oil dropping is that there is a leak in the system. You can check this by checking under the vehicle and looking out for dripping. If the engine warning light has come on and you can see dripping, there is a strong chance that it is engine oil. If this is the case, you need to get to a garage as soon as possible and have the source of the leak plugged.

Initially booked in for an oil change which was carried out to a good standard so booked car in again to have air conditioning, timing belt and fan belt sorted. Denver fit me in on a Saturday when it suited me and carried out all work to an excellent standard. Highly professional would definitely recommend. After always using a dealer it is nice to find someone who is genuine and doesn't cost the earth! Definitely 5* and will definitely use again!

This is the highest grade of oil as it is created by oil engineers, scientists and chemists who control the ingredients in a highly measured and calculated way. This type of oil is a mixture between conventional oils and the synthetic type described above. This type of oil is recommended for cars, vans, lorries and heavy loaded vehicles as is contains excellent low-temperature properties.
If you have an older car this is the oil for you. Some high mileage, high performance cars are better served by synthetic oil. However, this blend of oil has a unique mixture of additives and viscosity, this oil will have reduced burn off, will help seal oil leaks and will also help improve the combustion chamber sealing which in turn improves engine compression.
Conventional oil comes in many grades, based on viscosity (thickness and fluidity), with each grade being blended to suit a particular car, environment and driving style.
