Good service Fast and efficient and well done job.
Patrick collected mum’s car which was not running and fixed what the AA had said was wrong with the car. He advised us every step of the way, updating us and keeping us informed at all times on progress and further problems with the car which were caused by mum’s break down. The final price was for lots of work: new cam belt, new valves, head gasket, head bolts, timing belt kit, water pump, oil & filter and cylinder head. Patrick is a very amenable and honest man, only doing what was needed to the car as he came across problems. Mum’s in her 70’s and her car is her lifeline and we’re all completely satisfied with Patrick’s work, he even returned the car to mum and took her through everything helping her to feel confident that the car was ok to drive again. His communication, honesty and attention to detail is a refreshing change! BIG THANKS TO PATRICK AND HIS TEAM
Patrick the owner was extremely helpful and explained why I needed new break discs as MERCEDES had informed me. 1 min walk from the garage was a large Tesco with an intergrated Costa. I waited here whilst the work was carried out as the garage has no waiting room. The work took only 1 hr which was amazing. Patrick then explained to me that the new breaks will take a few hundred miles to wear in. The price was excellent for this job, but I have to admit the service was even better. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
very friendly and reliable service, very honest and upfront
Patrick came by promptly to replace my rear brake pads and discs first thing in the morning and had my car back by 12pm. The price was great and service was fantastic. Will be doing my MOT in mid January with these people, very reliable people.
Great garage. Friendly and professional staff. Would highly recommend this garage. I will definitely be taking my car there again.
very good job
Pool Street did an exceptional job, they picked the car up and dropped it back at a time that suited me, they were very friendly and professional, the price they quoted was the price I paid. I intend to use them again and would highly recommend them
Price was as said, friendly staff great service
Brilliant service and stat done..warm car again..thanks guys.
Would recommend. Price a little higher than quoted but additional work was completed. All work completed for a reasonable price. Good communication from garage throughout the day.
Straightforward service and MOT ...friendly and helpful would recommend
Great friendly service. Will use garage for any future requirements.
I was welcomed immediately by staff at reception who speedily had the diagnostic technician on hand waiting to fix a problem with the diagnostics on my RR Evoque. James reset all codes and restored the car so it performed to its original state. Would definitely recommend for cars with diagnostic problems and excellent value for money Michael Mckechnie.
They were really good
Managed to get the work done on very short notice and around my work schedule. Would recommend.
The garage had a look at my broken door catch whilst the car was in for another job to be done. They explained what needs doing and didn't charge me. Great garage! Would use again.
Very good experience. Dropped my car off at 11am for brake pads and discs and they got straight onto it whilst we went into town. They even directed us to the nearest bus stop, which was appreciated. Job done to good standard and exact price; car is fine. My one complaint is that they didn't call us as promised to let us know it was done, so we ended up hanging around in Crawley for longer than we should have done. I would use again.
Really happy to find this Garage very good in all aspects with reasonable price, easy to commute and with prompt reply & communication . Shan
Overall positive experience at Goodfellas Autoz where i did my MOT, full service, timing belt + water pump + auxiliary belt replacement for a 09 Ford Fiesta petrol. Initial quote was £350 for everything but they noticed the auxiliary belt was worn out which brought the final price to £370 which remains very competitive price wise, about 40% cheaper than a Ford garage (quoting £598 without auxiliary belt). You might not have Ford branded parts, Ford stamp in your service book, a nice shiny garage with coffee on arrival and a valeted car when you leave, but at least you pay for what matters, the work on the car, and you don't feel ripped off ! The work was done in the agreed time (one day) and they were fine with doing the work on the day i wanted to. The guys seemed honest and called prior doing additional work to check you were OK to proceed with it. Communication with them was good through the web chat (even out of working hours), but a bit more difficult by phone but i am not an english native speaker. They also stamped correctly the service book for service history and cambelt kit replacement. The only negative points I have is that they did not call me to say that my car was ready to be collected when the job was finished (i had to call them myself to check it was done 1h prior closure) and they did not provide the usual check list for the full service where you see what parts have been replaced and what parts' condition was checked. No breakdown of individual part cost and labour cost mentioned on the invoice too. Overall would recommend and would come back for future work. Thank you guys!
Definitely recommend.. excellent service throughout very pleased and definitely come back fantastic price thank you
Prompt service and the car was well repaired.
Extremely grateful for the whole experience with M60 Autos - Zac responds swiftly all the time, the speed of their repair is unbelievably quick, and every personnel I’ve met at M60 Autos is extremely helpful and professional. The most important thing is that they do CARE about you - they listen to their customers and try to help you out as far as they can, which is really impressive. I felt really really lucky to have found such an excellent garage, and I’ll defo go to them for any future car issues/servicing/maintenance. Highly highly recommended and thanks again so much!!
Really good service, came and picked up the car and also stayed opened late for me
There pickup and drop off service was ideal in my case as I had to get it serviced and Mot on New Year's Eve. No issues with the car and there was no push from them to get something fixed. Overall happy with their service.
Price was as quoted. They investigated and gave me advice on an existing problem with a warning light (that would not have stopped it getting through the MOT) for no extra charge.
Steins was great, very straightforward. Price quoted was price paid - will use again.
Did an excellent job!
Prompt and friendly, good price for service - I had to pay more because I needed brakepads, so can't complain about that. Would recommend.
Panel beating is a job carried out by specialist bodywork technicians who are able to utilise specific tools and techniques to reshape the metal on the body of a car.
If you are involved in an accident, it will often be the body that takes the brunt of the damage as panels on a car are designed to absorb impact and reduce the force of a crash by cushioning the blow.
Even though a car may have suffered a huge impact, it doesn’t always mean that the panels need to be replaced.
Panel bashing involves using a huge variety of tools to manipulate the metal and get it back to it's original shape.
Depending on the extent of the damage, the amount of time and money spent will vary, however the cost is likely to be less than replacing an entire panel.
Getting a respray is a quick and easy job which most specialist body shops will be able to carry out.
Depending on the facilities at the body shop you choose, the time the job will take will vary.
Some specialists will have state of the art spraying booths and work with classic and high end cars, these facilities will be able to deliver the highest quality of respray work as the paint and delivery system will be the best avaliable.
However the job is likely to be more expensive than a conventional body shop.
The time taken and cost of the serivce will depend on the type of paint and the size of the area requiring respray.
Wrapping a car can help protect the paintwork from weather, chipping and rusting as well as UV rays which can fade the paint on your car.
Furthermore if you happen to scratch or scuff your car, the wrapping will take the brunt of the damage and so protect the underlying paint.
You can have your car wrapped to display specific graphics if you are interested in changing the aesthetic of your car. If you want a stripe on your car or other shapes, you can make the request from a specialist who will provide you with a quote.
Before a vinyl wrap is applied; all of the lights, door handles, trims and badges will be removed from the body of the car.
Special car wrapping surface cleaner will then be applied to your car before the wrap is applied.
Welding is an important part of bodywork car repair as it is essential for fixing different pieces of metal together.
Welding is a highly skilled job and should not be attempted unless you are a trained professional.
There are a huge amount of uses for welding on a vehicle as new parts can be created and existing ones can be repaired.
Many different parts of a car can be repaired with the help of a welding expert so do not think your car is written off if something falls out of the engine!
Rust removal can be a job completed without the need of a mechanic, however it depends on the extent of the damage and the area which is affected.
Rust forms when an anode, cathode and electrolyte combine.
The metal in your car acts as the cathode and anode which reacts with water (the electrolyte).
Even if your car is under cover, rust will form as a result of these elements coming together if the climate is humid enough.
You can buy specific products online which can help remove rust which are effective at repairing damage, however its effectiveness will vary on the extent of the damage.
The cost of a rust repair will once more depend on the extent of the damage.
Getting a scratch or scruff is common for cars in the UK however they can be perfectly removed with the right technical knowledge, tools and materials.
It’s important to remember that even if you have suffered from extensive scratching or scuffs, a trained professional has the ability to remove them with precision.
Removing a scratch is far cheaper than having an entire body piece replaced like a bumper so always check with a body shop to see if they can remove a scratch before replacing anything.
On average it doesn’t take too long to have your body work repaired when it comes to scratches and scruffs.
It’s important that you get a car scratch removed as soon as possible as it may get worse over time and the value of your vehicle will reduce!
Having a scratch removed by an expert is the best option unless you are a trained professional, as there are a variety of materials and techniques involved in the process.
The cost and time taken to complete the work will depend entirely on the extent of the damage to the body work so make sure to get as many quotes as possible to avoid paying over the odds.
The mechanic will apply the paint to the car scratch, or car scuff, as part of the bodywork repair. The Paintwork repair required for removing car scratches and car scuffs shouldn’t vary in time or cost greatly, from garage to garage.
The bodywork required on a car restoration will be significant as whole panels are likely to require replacement and the ones which stay as part of the original vehicle, will need to be welded, have rust and scratches removed.
A full restoration make take years and they often do, as mechanics and hobbyists use their spare time and money to build their own cars.
A huge amount of car body work will be required on restorations as all of the components will be required to be removed and fixed back into place during different stages of the work.
Dent repair is one of the biggest parts of body work repair and is essentially the same as panel beating or panel bashing which is covered at the top of this guide.
SMART repair (Small, Medium Area Repair Technology) is a type of service offered by mechanics which is includes the use of specialised tools, paints and materials to provide your car with a good as new finish on an area which may be damaged.
Before the technology existed, if a panel was damaged, the entire piece would have to be replaced meaning more money and time would have to be spent on car maintenance.
The advances in technology mean that the speed and effectiveness of body work repair is significantly improved.
According to YouGov research, 65% of cars in the UK are carrying damage which could easily be repaired using SMART repair.
